Is it easier on the eyes or was black better?


Before I continue to make the complete changes to switch over to this color, I want to get your feedback on it.


Better or worst than before? I don't mean on the layout as I have more headings to change and buttons to make this color but to read the forum, is it easier, same, or harder on the eyes?

I agree with fellow juice monkey and brother in test 400 here. I don't mind the new shades, but I also liked the old look much better:)

Having said that, I recall you telling us that, you were going to be making some changes to the forum over the summer...whatever you decide, I am sure it will be top notch ;)

I like the grey better too. You just need to clean up all the rest of the stray black areas if you go with it. And the red outlines around the grey area are not easy on the eyes.

I would have to create another style and you'd have a choice. I'll see what the majority say and decide which way to go.

I have a small upgrade coming in the next few weeks and a pretty big one by the end of the year. I'm really anticipating the big upgrade. Tons of new features.

Since it seemed half half with likes and dislikes, I've decided to go with the black as we are all used to it.

I will warn everyone though, when the large upgrade comes toward the end of this year, the board will look very different. We will start with a light style and when I learn to tweak it, we'll go back into something darker.

Now I hope when they upgrade the board software, they make all the gif icons and smilies into png instead. I hate having to clean up the white artifcat pixels left over from the gif transparency.

I wished the site didn't look so different from all my other sites ...........it draws attention from the teens walking past my desk.

On some sites you can change the skin color....the option would be at the bottom left of your screen.

Here on CBB I believe MP only has this color/layout available. HE may be able as ADMIN to change things around...but those changes aren't always easy ($$) to make.

Still some fonts I need to fix though. But much easier on the eyes I find.

Almost perfect, but not quite. How about the lighter grey put to the left, replaced with a subtle but appreciable beige, and a softer tone on the borders. Maybe diffused scarlet?

Agree.. The bright colours are too bright on my monitor. Makes me actually shield my eyes as if from the sun. No problem though because..

It will change again when the new version of the software comes out. The whole template system will be changed to Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Which is very welcome because it'll be much easier to create new looks for it.
