Ok, the gym I signed up to is small, but it has free weights and some cable machine.
Am I able to get what I need out of free weights?

What are your goals. Big ripped muscles will not be achieved by machines alone. Nothing beats heavy free weights.

Should be more than enough weight for a while. If you know what you are doing free weights are preferable to machines. As long as they have a power rack and some adjustable benches it should be fine. Although the way you worded the question is too vague to really give an answer. Especially with no knowledge of your training experience.

Well, They have benches that incline and decline, they have a rack of weights also.
Upstairs they have that machine were you can do all kinds of stuff on it (I forget the name) But it has two side of cable and you can do a bend over chest workout????
They also have a machine free weight, for sqauts or you can use it for benching and other chest workouts?
and then they have all that other little cable gay machine.
I am a old school weight lifter that doesn't like any thing cable unless it is for my bi/ti

I train at home.
All I use are free weights with a Olympic bench and a power rack.
IMO free weights improve balance and strengthen your core, tendons and ligaments much better than machines do. Machines do have there place for sure I'm just not a big fan of them.
free weights are king.....i spent the better part of the past 3 years doing dc with no training partner so i relied on machines too often......and now my tendons, ligaments and joints are hurtin.....machines are made for the masses so if you are average height/build then machines can work......i am tall and have gorilla length arms so machines **** me up......
