Cottonseed seems to be the common base for many steroids. A common replacement for cottonseed is grapeseed which is actually a little thicker than cottonseed.

Oil Viscosities (mm2/s):

Grapeseed 37.0
Cottonseed 33.5
Soybean 32.6
Safflower 31.3

Is there are reason soybean or safflower aren't commonly used? Shelf life? Common allergies?

Guys...the pharm products are sterile and sealed. As well, they are properly stored and handled. Comparing them to cooking oils at Sobie's is a bit like comparing NASA to a model airplane set, lol!

If the stuff is in a sterile, airtight container, out of light it really shouldn't go bad. Or even technically expire.
However, do as you please, if it makes you happy...

oils filtered with a .2 micron filter, mixed with 2% BA, and injected into a sterile vial meet these criteria.

Shelf life in the grocery store however will provide a relative understanding of how fast each of the oil degrade without sterile preparation.
