So, yes our bodies develop a memory....and yes-it is good to trick the body sometimes...why do I find that there is never a unanamus opinion on having a cheat day v.s a cheat hour-I have my own opinions-what are yours and why and does it really matter if ur not gorging urself like a ravenous piggy or devouring food like its ur last meal if its an hour or a day?? I know most ppl. do this once a week-but should we go a wee-bit longer-or will we loose all sanity if we do-haha-just puttin' it out there for a lil' discussion....thanks (By the way what is ur cheat-treat?) :popc:sex

I have always had a cheat day..right up to Provincials only the week before. It was my best showing and that meal did not hurt me one bit.
For Nationals I didn't have one the last month. I came in looking skinny and wondered if I missed me peak.
But a cheat meal for a women is just a tad bit of a cheat. Steak..smashed with some steak drippings on them,a few slices of bread and a small shared piece of dessert with a glass of wine. F

I still have a cheat meal once a week. I'll have some kind of pasta, desset and POPCORN later that night. In the offseason, I have a full out cheat DAY once a week.

For women a cheat meal once a week is fine...try to keep carbs to 100g max. A cheat day is overkill and will retard fat loss.

I don't do any cheat days during prep but rather a full day refeed once per week.

the point of a cheat is to shock your body.... all your doing is a carb load and all you need is 3 big potatoes to do so.... people just use "cheat meals" because it doesnt really harm you. in the off season i take a cheat day every saturday, but at 12 weeks out i have just a cheat meal and at 4 weeks out i totally cut my cheats. everyone is different, i know some one that can get off with a cheat day a week before a show.

I went 2 months with no dairy or grains, very little fruit, no nuts... and no cheat days..lets see what does that leave..oh.. brocolli and fish..lol.. did this to make a weight class for a fight.. the cheat day that followed that victory was an all you can eat high end buffet,, were talking french toast, waffles, cakes, ribs, chocolate fondue... it was amazing.. i felt sick and sweat all night.. to much of a shock to the system.. never put on any weight from it.. was glad to be back to the diet with some added fruit and nuts after that mess..

I cheat with a cupcake once a week.
Gives me something to look forward to and keeps me in line the remainder of the week.

All depends on the diet you are running and your current condition.

two cream cheese and cuccumber sandwiches
chocolate milk shake
mc donalds fries
couple protein bars
2 pieces pizza

I don't understand cheat days with no restrictions...wouldn't it be better to not load up on fast food (mcdonalds, wendys). I myself don't really do the whole cheat day/meal once I am about 6 weeks out or so...but prior to that, I will do it once in a while.
Like last weekend, I ate probably 1000-1500 calories more than I would have normally, mostly just carbs. Seems healthier in every sense of the word health compared to say adding 1500 calories of greasy deep-fried french fries!

I do the cheat meal... only problem is I go out and load up on crap... then it's just sitting there in the morning...Can't let it go to waste...
I obviously have to fix this problem, lol.

i think it's individual... I burn calories faster than the average human... seriously, I've posted my bulking diet (4800 calories a day) and my cutting diet and it wouldn't work for most people... I dropped a half cup of nuts and dropped 6 pounds in a week... he saw me pose knowing I'm 12 weeks out and gave me a gorging day because I dropped weight too fast.

weren't you the same person that posted pics here a while ago that you were really obese back in the day? Or am I confusing you with someone else. For someone your size who has a hard time getting over 130 eating 4800 calories I'd hate to know what you were eating to be overweight!
I do stick to my original point though...no matter how fast you burn calories, it would probably be to anyone's advantage to avoid deep fried foods! Just think, if you're body has the ability to burn through food like an incredible engine, then burn some good food, use that good fuel!
Not saying I never eat junk - but when I do, its not exactly planned. The junk I do eat, tends to be on the healthier side though...
Still boggles my mind that you actually could have eaten 4800 for more then a few weeks without balooning up. Unless you're ridiculously active. 4800 calorie days wouldn't turn into anything back when I would ride a bike 3 hours a day. How many calories do you eat prepping for a show?

yeah.. I was 200 pounds at one point... then later on in life was 100 pounds lol.. my metabolism is retarded... I don't get it, but my trainer does, so it's cool.. I just have to listen to him and eat what he tells me to...
that huge calorie intake was really getting to me this winter! I was sometimes crying at night because I had to eat a whole nother meal and a cup of nuts and was too tired to stay up and eat it! lol... glad it's dropped down a bit.
Im not a Bodybuilder though... fitness they only want us sitting at like 8-10 % bf... Im at about 10 right now... so I have to try and hold what Ive got

Cheat day for me. I wont even tell you how bad it is. The honest to Gods truth is the more weight I gain on Saturday, the more weight I will lose by the next friday. I get so hot by the end of the day that I feel like a have a flu. Its quite disturbing actually what I put in my body every saturday. I get pretty lean doing this, and have accomplished this without excessive fat burners in the past, although I do like my clen and t3 now days. Even for my first show I was one of the leanest guys there, and I cheat right up to the week before. No carbs all week at all, then I junk out hard for a day. Fat is fairly high all week, I try and get back into ketosis by tuesday night, that requires alot of fat the first couple days. Then I can swicth back to more protien and less fat for the rest of the week.

No cheat this week... lol...
on weeks I get no cheat, I do the "upgrade"
instead of a can of tuna, I'll get a nice pice of pickerell, or instead of cheap ground beef, I'll get a steak... just fancy stuff up a bit... feels like a treat then, and keeps me focused... mind you, the diet has never been a real issue for me...
