I tried it since I used to get it for free (made it at work), used it during a bulk. To be honest I didnt really feel it did much even though on paper I know it looks good.

Two things though:

1) I tan regularly and it will make you burn like a MOFO so that sucked.
2) you are ot supposed to drink alcohol AT ALL if your on it (no biggie for me there).

I think I still have a few bottles lying around lol...

I would use it whenever I'd eat junk food or a huge carb meal. I feel it helped prevent any excess carb from spilling over into fat storage. I could eat and eat and eat and not look like the pillsbury dough boy the next day.

keep lean on a bulk cycle.. so the carbs i eat can get to the muscles and not spill over to fat storage.. i know a pro that uses it and he really recommends it so i'm looking into it

so it is a carb blocker?

no it does much more than that..

"When your body releases insulin, over time, your insulin receptors get 'dull', less responsive. In advanced stages that becomes type II diabetes.
Metformin 'refreshes' those receptors, making them more sensitive to the insulin that your body releases.
It is a great product. Taken straight after a large meal, within the hour you will have EXTREMELY full muscles. Dosages are 500mg after a normal to large carb meal, 1,000mg after a big carb meal and 1,500mg after all you can eat at Pizza Hut. You can take it after as many meals in a day as you wish, as long as those are large carb meals.
I generally found that if I take less than 100g of carbs for every 500mg metformin, I go into hypo. And yes, you can eat fat meals, as metformin will indirectly prevent the fat being deposited.
The long acting glucophage is taken before bed as it helps the person release less insulin throughout the night, especially if they had a big dinner like most people do. But that doesn't apply to a healthy person. That might get a healthy person in hypo overnight.
I believe every human should be on metformin, as it helps keep your insulin receptors fresh and as such it will prevent type II diabetes."

why do you say this? I have never tried it but im thinking about going on it soon.
I hear that it's good for leaning and cutting/preventing fat storage, but it doesn't break down muscle, in fact it increases sensitivity of the muscles insulin receptors, therefore shuttling more blood glucose and protein into muscle cells.

Pretty much the only thing i can see here that would lower your chances of gaining muscle mass is the fact that it can decrease appetite and in some cases cause nausea..

let me know what you think.
cheers

You are going to deposit fat if you over eat carbs period...with or without metformin it makes no difference. If your diet is decent there is no reason for metformin...especially when you are in a cutting phase.
