Any other guys as bad at it as I am?
I simply cannot read women to save my life! 3 instances on Saturday night...
Was at Yuk Yuk's. My buddy says our server was hitting on me all night. Even before the show she stopped and talked with us for a bit. Couple times when asking us if we wanted drinks or something she'd lightly touch my shoulder, back or arm. Smiled at me all the time. I figured she was just being nice... you know - a good server. He says she was hitting on me.
Next, at Whiskey's in the market (Ottawa peeps should know this) and again according to my bud 2 chicks kept sending me signals for the hour or so that we were there. 1 even came over and slide herself between him and I to get a drink when there were actually lots of empty areas's she could have gone to where the bar tender was actually standing. She looked at me and smiled, I smiled back but didn't say hellow or anything.
I know I am pretty clueless about this shit but it seems unless a chick comes over and literally grabs my dick then I don't pick up on any signals lol
Anyone else this bad?
I think it might of had something to do with them being younger and me being older... so I don't think they are interested? Older broads don't **** around... they WILL let you know if interested.

I am embarassingly unskilled at flirting with women especially since I don`t take drugs anymore.

I used to struggle with this. And sometimes still, prefer to just not bother, but I had to make a conscious decision to risk embarrassment, and start making moves. I would not have survived otherwise perhaps.
My whole life, every GF I had made the move, but as I got older, the trend was like you described. Flirting signals, and then the ball was in my court. I always let things go, and was always alone.
So finally, I started sticking my neck out there a bit. If a girl made it a little obvious, I would make some conversation. Trick is to never ever be drunk even though you would think it is easier...it isn't... Maybe it will work for 19yos, but 30? prob not so well.
So what is the worst possible thing that could happen? She brushes you off or starts talking about her boyfriend.... which would be a subtle way of saying "no".
I have talked to many girls about this, and they (even the hot ones) are as nervous as you would be approaching them. It is easy to smile at someone and then look away. It is hard to approach, and girls have told me that when they are approached, they are nervous wrecks, so do not be so quick to interpret weird behavior as disinterest. They might just be nervous.
It can be as simple as "having a good time tonight?" And then get them talking more... ask them about work, school, fun shit they like, and if their drink is empty.......buy em a ****ing bevvy. :) If you say something retarded.... laugh at yourself. Don't go all trenboloney and get mad. Look them in the eyes and show off that sexy smile. :)
I am no expert... But I am getting better. I have struggled so much over the years, and have even been very very depressed over my inability to pick up women, that I had take a good hard look at myself, and what I was doing, and how I was doing it, and make the necessary changes. Now I do fine. Being a little more muscular doesn't hurt either lol
The last rejection I had was kind of stupid on my part, as I didn't notice her engagement ring, but whatever, she was hot, we made eye contact a few times, I flirted, she reciprocated (whore), and then I started talking to her, asked if I could call her sometime, and then she showed me her ring.. LOL Point is... who ****ing cares. She was flattered, and I just had to move on to the next girl.
I find that many girls are a little on the shy side. For instance, the pretty girl in the gym who never ever looks away from straight ahead and sure as **** doesn't seem friendly.... I decided one day to say **** it and go say hello to this ****ing princess. I had her blushing, giggling, and smiling, and her demeanor was completely different after that. A lot of girls in the gym have self esteem issues and think they are fat, even though their hard work paid off long ago. They are intimidated by the iron, and the muscles moving it, and if you show them normal personality, that guard comes down fast. Muscles intimidate a lot of girls.
That being said, there are some stuck up ****ing bitches out there too. Just don't take shit personally if they are a ****.

i agree, don't 'think' you know what a girl is like without talking to them. even with me, a lot of people say i look a bit mean and cocky when i don't smile, so i make a point of smiling and laughing as much as i can. also i recommend approaching in the same way, with a smile. and never approach like you really care about 'picking' them up, i always think of a girl as a friend, or buddy, that way there is no feeling of a sales pitch, girls can sense insecurity or cheesy stuff. just pretend it's not big deal, talkin to a friend - it just happens that the friend has huge hooters LOL

From working in the service industry for a little while, be weary of girls that are "working" that are giving you "signals". 99% of the time these girls have bf's and they are sending signals so you dig deeper for tips. there is a reason why bartenders and cocktail waitresses are the hottest girls in the industry, and they are most certainly the hardest girls to land a date with if you just met them. your best bet is to not pay THAT much attention to them, and if they are interested in you THEY will let you know. trust me.
