Hi Everyone,

I am new to this site, and am looking for some advice. I recently just had a baby boy about a year ago ( i guess not to recent.LOL) Anyways i have lost a total of 60 pounds ( weight Watchers), going from 221 pregnant- 165 post pregnancy. I have now got 20 more pounds to go and can't seem to get it off. I am also lifting weight to build up my legs ( which are getting bigger) and also my arms. Does anyone have any advice on how to get this last 20 pounds off and still keep building and toning my body before i decided to get pregnant again.

Right now i am.

Height :5'9
Weight : 165
Waist : 28 inches
Mid-section: 34 inches ( measured just below belly button)
Hips: 38 inches
Legs: 21 Inches

Please helps get these incehs off.

Thanks

First off what is your diet like? Are you eating under maintenance? Are you doing cardio very often? What type of weight training are you doing?Heavy?High reps?Lots of drop and supersets?

Sorry i forgot to post that. I am doing 60 mins of cardio 6 days a week and i lift small weights 3-4 days a week. My diet is pretty normal, i try to stay away from chocolate and chips and all that yummmy, but bad stuff. Hope this helps. I keep looking at the girls on the cover of the Oxygen magazine and i want a body like them. Please help me.!!

they know how to diet. To look like that it's not a matter of saying away from all the yummy bad stuff it's about eating the same good quality shit food day in and day out, training hard (not small weights) and a good cardio routine.

Majority of people who say they want to look like X don't have the will power or drive to actually try it and it doesn't happen in 2 weeks, it's months.

Ok, well thanks for the info. I am just looking for some advice. I don't need to get my body like that in exactly 2 month, i want to get rid of the last 20 pounds in about 2 months, but maybe i didn't clarify that. I would like to look like a girl on the Oxygen magazine, but i guess if i'm planning on getting pregnant again ,it wouldn't be a good idea. Sorry, i just posted to get some advice, maybe this wasn't a good idea.

no no, all I;'m saying is it takes some real hard work to look like them :)

That and they got some great genetics which helps a ton! Keep asking questions but be somewhat realistic in your goals. 20lbs in 2 months for a woman is not easy at all espcially if that 20lbs is fat and not fat/water weight.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if you were telling me not to do this or not. I know 20lbs may not be realistic but what is for 20 lbs?

Post your diet. 20lbs in 2 months is going to boil down to a VERY consistant diet and excercise program.

What would you suggest? ( 69 Challenger)

Tough to suggest anything when I don't know what you are doing now, but I'd make sure you are eating every 2-3 hours, get protein with each meal, lower your carbs (add lots of fibrous veggies instead), cut dairy and fruits (again, don't know if they are part of your current intake) and be consistant with your training/cardio.

^ What she said! If you're really already committed to 60 minutes of cardio 6 days a week you should be able to shed fat no problem with a good diet.

Lower your carbs considerably, up your proteins and essential fats and keep the cardio up.

You can't technically build muscle and burn fat at the same time, it's either or, but if you commit to a good fat burning regime you will look like you built mass as a leaner muscle always looks bigger. Welcome to the forum by the way :)

Thanks. I am really enjoying this forum. i am getting alot of good idea's. Anyways my diet is that of the Canadian health food guide but my serving are a little less. One day a week i have a cheat day ( i really go all out). I drink tons of water and i usually have fruit with breakfast in the morning and some time snacks. Oh and i do eat 5-6 small meals a day. Maybe i'm not losing this last 20 because of baby weight?

Hey welcome to the site, but if you could write out what you eat in a day that would be a good starting point so that people could fine tune your diet.

You are saying you have a cheat DAY where you eat everything in site?Maybe thats your problem--why dont you have a cheat MEAL instead.

As for cardio and weights, the trick is to progress. If you hit a plateau then maybe reving up the cardio might help. What i mean by that is upping the intensity.Say you run at 6.0 on the tread mill for 30 mins, try upping it to 6.3-6.5 for 30 mins. You need to sweat and come home tired like you use to.You should also incorporate more weight training and progress with that as well.

Post up your diet and we will try to find what you are not doing right..

what do you eat for protien??
you need to get rid of the dessert - try fat free jello if you need to have a sweet fix.
get rid of the starch for supper as well as the pasta at lunch and put in a salad
If you are trying to get rid of fat your meals should be balanced
