I'd like to workout with the girls in the first post...

Though I'm also in the peg I find my basement gym is a lot better than the commercial gyms. I've got my bike, treadmill, chinning bar a bench and a couple of bars. I broke down and bought bumpers and built a lifting platform. I've been using a free-spotter as a training partner replacement and I am very very impresed. The new 5.1 system centred on the lifting platform is a new and special addition.

At this point all I really need is a rowing machine and a set of power hooks.
Some kind of 5x5 has been calling my name and after almost a year of starting strength I'm just about ready for a change.

I'm hoping I will need to buy more bumpers soon....

.... So this training partner thing... How the heck do you ever agree on a program and a schedule?

It's hard to find a workout partner who's program / schedule will work for you, even harder co-ordinating which tap-out t-shirts you're both going to wear that day.

Hey buddy..can I send in my application? Female lifting partners are ok but a man is like "foreplay". I can spot heavy lifters, not cheaters.

I use to have my x as my work out partner/trainer. He began traveling for work and it was not fun anymore alone then I saw Kerri. She was there ever night at the gym. Doing girly weights n I just wanted to feed her real food every time.

26 yrs old.. a model, singer, owner of a voice music school. She and I have been lifting now for 4 months 4 nights every week. We text after supper to say whats going on and make a plan to be there for each other.

I'm so happy for her lately. She found love at they gym too.

I agree, its important that you and your work out partner have matching attire, and good comunication is important, like a partner that yells at you in the middle of your set and says things like, "come on baby, push it HARD, you big sexy beast" ahhhh good times.

i'm in vic and i'd like someone to lift with.....I have always gone solo but I am finding that getting a lift-off makes pressing a lot easier.....im a member at phoenix but i'd switch somewhere that allows chalk and loud grunting...lol

Haha, I find having a workout partner is way to much work its better to just get to know the guys who are at the gym around the same time as you are. I usally dont even need to ask for a spot if I rack enough weight someone I know usally just comes over lol.

Yeah I think anyone who spends enough time in the gym has probably had that happen or at least seen it happen. I've helped a few prople out and its a good way to get to know people you might not otherwise talk to.

THAT was the most disappointing thing I have ever read on the internet. It sounded like it was going in the direction of a "my first lesbian experience" and it just....ended!!

Are there post workout rub downs?? A Shower scene??

The Garage at King George and 68th. Old school, not crowded, DBs to 190. Best place I've found. :)

Definetly one of the best gyms in the lower mainland (along with Grims in Port Moody). Beyond the features stated above it has a double platform, a ton of bumper plates, it is strongman friendly (ie I'm storing some of my junk there.. a log and axle), the owner is working on hosting an MMA club in the very near future. There is a strong posibility of a novice Strongman comp at this gym in late summer.

Unlike Platinum up the road... Nobody at The Garage is gonna come up to you and tell you chalk is not allowed or that you're making too much noise.

I had been training at Gold's in Peterborough. Anyway I call today to find out why my trainer has not been returning my emails. I find out that he is no longer there and the manager who setup the deal is no longer there. Guess what...no one can find any paperwork. I have my credit card receipts so I should be covered. But my ass is already feeling a bit sore.

Anyway...If anyone is in the area or even north of there as I drive an hour south to get there shoot me a PM.

as much as I would love some companionship sometimes, I think it would be more trouble then it is worth. I am too used to doing my own thing.

When I need a spot, it sucks, but I find some fag to help.
