I used ART therapy last summer to repair a torn hammy. Worked like a charm and had me back squatting within a month. At the present I have some terrible tendonitis in my forearms and was wondering if anyone has used it for tendonitis and if it was effective.

I've been to my chiro/ART guy for all sorts of stuff... Sore elbows, knees, shoulders, lower back cramps. The guy I see has all sorts of certifications and if one thing doesn't work he tries a different technique. If you haven't already, I would recommend finding someone who is in to a bit of everything.. I've had better results from well-rounded practitioners than I have from specialists.

I used it for nerve pain coming from the elbow up through the shoulder. Apparently my ulna nerve or whatever it is called was being compressed by all of the muscle tension in my forearm.

I tried him way back in the days. His ART did not help me at all for my tennis elbow. Worst he charged me $50 for like 15 minutes.

Seems like we had the same kind of experience. I personally thought he was cocky and hated his bitchy front desk bitches. But I`ve good things of him from others, that`s why I recommended him. Am I a good guy or what? I gave him 5 visits to make a difference and it didn`t do shit and even paid like $60 to get a stretching program from his partner and another ****ing waste of money.

I have an appointment for next Tuesday. Today I went overboard and trained biceps with heavy db curls. 70's x6 was my top set. He'll have me stop for a month I bet.

2/5, no wonder he's shiz. but i did remember seeing members of the Als there when I went. it's no wonder the Als play like shiz too
thanks for recommending Jay, Ritch!!! lol

on a different note, i hurt my bicep/forearm 2 months ago. got really hammered one night and started lifting chiks onto the bar. maybe i lifted one that was too heavy but the next morning could not move my right arm. had to stopped doing bi's completely and took a few weeks off back. upped my GH from 2 to 2.5 iu's for the past 2 weeks and my arm feels much better. even did some cable bi's yesterday for the 1st time since the injury with mininal discomfort (i tried the past few weeks but was still too much pain)
long live HGH!

I just clicked on that link that rates the MD`s. Interesting, I`m not the only one who thought he was arrogant. Is this the same Jay Kiss with pictures of pro athletes on his wall, the one who studied in New York and claims to have roomed with Ritch Gaspari? I ask this because it says his specialty is naturotherapy not ART. His price and fast treatmenst however match what I experienced.

Once he really pissed me off when treating me as he was having a conversation with the woman who was helping him do the treatment (one of his bitchy desk workers) and mentioned the name of a club I once worked at. So I said " Oh I`ve worked there" Then these cocksuckers stopped their conversation and looked at me like why was I talking... Then the dumb **** said something about the subject being personal. Well why the **** are you talking about it in front of me. Seriously WTF!

Anyway, the other reason I recommended him is because of a UFC fighter I`m sure you all know I was talking to said he`s the shit. My boss also said good things about him when we were talking about injuries the other day. I think Jay selects who he wants to perform good work on, this way the person spreads good news about him, the the other "normal" people he just ****s around with. Like me. Anyway, thanks for nothing Jay. I take back that recommendation.

ART is just a fancy term for deep tissue massage. Dont pay extra for the same treatment.

ART and deep tissue are 2 different techniques.

I just saw a chiro who started ART on me today, she was shocked at the amount of scar tissue I had all over. I constantly feel a dull pain in my muscles where there are huge knots of scar tissue from years of working out. She only worked on my rotator cuffs and traps today but I definatlely feel a difference.

Deep tissue massage is great but is somewhat different. I think, to put it simply, deep tissue tries to break up scar tissue by pounding the shit out of it ART tries to break it up by elongating it. I feel absolutely amazing after a 90 minute deep tissue massage.

its the same principle but different method. if you want to pay for "ART" to get rid of scar tissue, then go ahead, but deep tissue massage will do the same for you

disagree. I've had both and ART is the only one which helped me with injuries

+2.

ART actually starts with the muscle belly being shortened then lengthened as the pressure is applied first directly to the affected area of the muscle or tendon and then in a motion against the direction of the lengthening muscle breaking off the scar tissue.
