IMO, none of the online 'secure email' services are very good. They provide a feeling of security but as we've all heard over and over LE has no problem getting in to these accounts when they want in... Unless you're bringing in a ton of stuff I wouldn't be toooo concerned. They need a good reason to see what you've been sending...
PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) is a reasonably secure encryption method and you can find add-ins for Outlook for free. You hand out your 'public key' to anyone that will be sending messages to you, they encrypt with that key and only you know the key to decrypt the message. Obviously this is only useful if the person on the other end also uses PGP and has a public key for you to encrypt with.

safe-mail.net
Second that. They have been challenged in court and didn't go tits up like hushmail. Located in Israel and always seem to "lose servers" at the best time.

I think he's saying if you are a large importer you need to watch yourself rather than a regular user.

The red tape the feds undergo to have full access to any individuals personal secure email is tremendous, let alone the fact that they most have undertaking a lengthy investigation...months sometimes years.
Safe-mail used to be "the one" but the big fellas arent using it anymore....for the usual Joe Schmoe that gets stuff here and there, supplements, cookies from the cookie website, grandmammas secret roast turkey recepie, then safe-mail is the best.
I use yahoo and I sometimes do use smoke signals, well depends on the wind and stuff. I find smoke signals do the job 50/50 though...not very reliable.
A friend of mine sent a note on a donkey, it seemed to have worked.

I wouldn't go with any without pgp. PGP is the only safe 100% way.
Here is a cool example of actually encrypting your hard drive (which I highly recommend if you do anything illegal with it) and also your emails.

NO
Operation Raw Deal was successful because Hushmal/cyber-rights gave up the password of the accounts. Stay away from them. Far away.

Please don't fool yourself in to thinking that PGP is 100% safe. It's called "Pretty Good Privacy" for a reason. It is FAR from foolproof and how well it works depends heavily on the user's private key and password. IMO leaving anything in the hands of the user is an easy recipe for bad encryption.

Hotmail is good enough for you then... Most people's accounts who get 'hacked' these days simply have weak passwords and aren't due to security flaws in the online services.

EXACTLY!!!
I'm suprised how many people yell HUSHMAIL. Hushmail should be called RAT mail. They had 2 damn years worth of erased emails available.
BTW Hushmail=cyber rights. Same owners out of BC.

"The red Tape"?
It took one application and a few days to get to Hushmail/Cyberrights to turn over there records. They didn't even appeal.
It's up to the company to make things difficult for the feds. Hushmail not only made things easy, they went beyond the call of duty to help out.
Safe-Mail has proven to make things difficult for anyone seeking their records. Has been proven time and time again with HYIP operators.

Still, it isn't 100% safe. I would use it only if I really had to. And then I would always use an IP that isn't mine. And lastly, use different accounts, often.
