I was reading the thread below where the guy tried to make a shake with a rockstar and it exploded everywhere and it got me thinking.. I think we've all had incidents with protein shakes like that...

I work in an office environment and a couple years ago I was shaking up some protein... It was real cheap stuff and didn't mix very well so I was shaking pretty hard and BAM it just blows up everywhere. All over my shirt, all over my computer, etc...

I ended up having to go home to change and I didn't hear the end of it for WEEKS.

So, have you ever had a shake explode on you at work? Have you had one explode on you at all? Ever have one mixed up in your gym bag only to come back to your locker to find it spilled everywhere?

This is interesting. What brand of protein were you using.
I am not a chemist---I know some guys that are though :D :D

When you shake the stuff, I guess you make energy.....I am not sure how that works.

Never happened to me in my entire life.

Never with protein... NoExplode (and like products): OH HELL YEA!!! Too many times.... once in my car in the middle of summer right before the gym (leather interior)... not fun... but definately funny afterwards...

I had chocolate whey pop open in my shaker cup in the kitchen. Fuuuuuuuuuuck. What a mess. Hardwood floor. All over the cabinets. Thank god it didnt get on the stipple.

I only wiped it up that night, and was going to do a deep clean the next day. By the morning it began to stink. It was a disaster. I will never forget my cat just watching me, the whole episode. Me yelling and roid raging. Cleaning. Laughing. The whole time the little ****er just sat there watching. Little prick :)

I forgot a shake in a backpack for about a week. When I found it I decided to open it. Because of fermentation pressure had built up, so the second I opened it it started overflowing and leaked everywhere. Fermented protein... any guess what it smells like?

I once forgot a shaker at the university pool... Went back for it a couple days later and it still had a full shake in there. Needless to say that was pretty nasty!

Yah fermented prote is disgusting. Also had a blended oat / olive oil / choc prote powder shake explode all over the kitchen at like 5 in the morning. FML.

Never had one explode, but what i have done is put the milk in the shaker, added the protien, put the cap on the shaker, put the milk back in the fridge, protien back on the shelf, grab the shaker and start shakeing forgetting that i hadn't screwed the cap on yet. Ya retarded, i know.

My shaker had no cap once. I started it slow all the time not to make it splash. Well lucky me, one time I grabbed the shaker with my hand to position it and hit the fast button by accident. Got it right in the face.

this thread jinxed me... i never had an incident till 5 minutes ago.. oatmeal and milk in a shaker with lid closed in the microwave doesnt work....

Sometimes ill mix up a big batch of shakes in a blender in the morning, im talking like 5 shakes worth.....


Sometimes I also forget to make sure the blender is actually sealed properly. :(
