So instead of creating a new thread I figured I'd update an old one since it involves youngins... lol


So I met this girl a few weeks back at a bar. She comes over says hello and we're talking. She's obviously a gym chick (woohoo) just by her body alone it is obvious she works out. So we do the swapity with numbers, etc and I go on my merry way driv ing my drunk friends home (not before a 3am Denny's visit lol).

We start texting and chatting on Facebook. Things are going good. She's super funny, witty, smart, down to earth, into the gym.... so far (even just through chit chats) I can't find anything bad about her. We always have something to talk about it seems even if it's just idle banter.

She makes a crack about something being before she was born and I'm like huh? Wacha mean? It was like in 85 or something like that. So she goes silent for a bit and that's when I ask how old she is.... 23. ughhhh **** me! 23?

Now, I am not looking for a **** friend of a bang buddy as those types of deals always go bad for me and the other person - one usually ends up wanting more. Can't say I was actually looking for anything right now to be honest but this girl has me awe struck.

So we talked about it a bit and because I think she is so incredible awesome (so far) the age thing isn't going to stop me in my tracks too much for now. Previous girls who were young I knew it was sex and only sex. You could just tell their maturity level wasn't there. Oddly enough, I do actually like to be able to carry on a conversation lol

So we've worked out a few times and I love it. I never thought I'd enjoy working out with a woman before but it's is incredibly sexy to me that she knows her way around a gym. Sure she could stand to improve (who couldn't) but by and large she knows her way around the free weighs/machines, what does what and is serious about being there. So hotttt!

Tonight we're going to see a buddy's band play. Catch a little dinner before hand and then check out the tunes.

So my question in all of this for those of you who have dated younger people... how do you deal with their friends and shit? We're actually discussing other planned dates and stuff we can do but eventually you know the friends aspect is going to come into play. I'm not overly worried about her and my friends as much as I am me and her friends - I doubt all her friends are as mature as she. And it kinda helps the relationship building process if you like their friends and can socialize with them and vise versa.

Any thoughts?

Part of that is due to her being from Cuba and it is more common to have a large age difference between spouses there. She is very mature, far more mature than most Canadians I meet her age. There the friend thing was never really an issue for me. Her friends accepted me. Her close friends are as mature as her. I think you may find that as people often attract people like themselves.

However, in the end you will face many challenges and friends will only be one of those. If you are willing to work through them together you will make it.

The one thing I always worry about with younger women and it's why I shy away from dating them is if you settle down early you run the risk later on of maybe wondering about what you missed out on. I know I did that with my ex despite the fact I had some serious good times in HS and Uni but still think I settled down too early. So I don't know.

I think it is easier for women to "settle down" than men, generally. Usually I do not even think about our age difference until someone calls her my daughter. Yep, it has happened a couple times.
