Winnipeg has to get the official stupid location award. Whomever founded that city was not good at choosing city locations....

yeah who would put a city right in the geographical centre of Canada, and where 2 rivers meet, wouldnt be good for trading at all...lol..
i agree we could have went a tad higher ground, but if you research history and why the early settlers settled there, i believe they had great reasoning...

besides it aint the city thats the problem, they spent the millions to make the floodway - unlike fargo - its the unfortunate folks south of the city living on ISLANDS now - and futher south in the states, fargo is under water... so much for spilling their water into the red..

I have to say this. Winnipeg's flood of 1997 should have been a wake up call. Our City elected officials and Provincial officials should have done something to prevent this from happening in our city again! Sadly, we have elected officials who are nothing but brain dead pieces of shit!!
