ahhhhhhh yes i was serious:confused:.You want fat and protein at that time.He said he wanted something QUICK cause he's on the run.Plus i understand you wouldnt cause you like doing your best--obviously he's less serious and whats to live a bit which i totally understand.

If the bar has the same amount of calories as his regular meal along with the proteins i see no prblem whatsoever bro

What does not being home for my 8:30pm meal have to do with being less serious? I am going out with a girl I met, on a friday night.. is that not allowed while dieting? lol...Of course I want to be my best and I have not strayed from my diet yet. Which is why I am asking for help.
Now the Cottage cheese and Jello sounds like a much better idea.. Since both of those are currently in my diet..
Thx..

Sorry bro..i didnt mean to say you weren't serious.Im sure you are and probably more so than 90% of the people here. What I meant was there are some that go to the extremes(perfectly fine to me) and you well, you want to live life in the process which is perfect in my book:)

Protein bars are junk... honestly, I only use them as a last resort or if I am dying to have something sweet...

I have no plans on dietting for a show, just from a health perspective it makes no sense... just look at the ingredients!

At 8 weeks out dairy is ok....Im eating cottage cheese alone for my last meal....about 40-50 grams of protein worth...2-3 weeks out you may want to cut dairy...
good luck with the new squeeze big fella....

Ironwill.. Gord doesnt have you eating Veggys for your last meal? He told me that it is very important to have the Broccoli and Asperagus before bed because it keeps your blood sugar low during the night..

But then again,we put in loads of steroids in our bodies and we justify that to be healthy? Can you see the irony?

I agree that a protein bar is not as good as a meal but once in a while when your in a pinch i think it will do its job.And in his case that would be once a week.To each their own i say.And ohh the casein shake is a good idea as well

By the way bro..do you ever eat fastfood?Just curious

Good ol low fat cottage is another good choice... you want casein as your last protein source...

PROTEIN – WHICH IS BEST?

"Casein
Casein is the major component of protein found in
bovine milk accounting for nearly 70-80% of its
total protein and is responsible for the white color of
milk. It is the most commonly used milk protein in
the industry today. Milk proteins are of significant
physiological importance to the body for functions
relating to the uptake of nutrients and vitamins and
they are a source of biologically active peptides.
Similar to whey, casein is a complete protein and
also contains the minerals calcium and phosphorous.
Casein has a PDCAAS rating of 1.23 (generally
reported as a truncated value of 1.0) (Deutz et al.
1998).
Casein exists in milk in the form of a micelle,
which is a large colloidal particle. An attractive
property of the casein micelle is its ability to form a
gel or clot in the stomach. The ability to form this
clot makes it very efficient in nutrient supply. The
clot is able to provide a sustained slow release of
amino acids into the blood stream, sometimes lasting
for several hours (Boirie et al. 1997). This provides
better nitrogen retention and utilization by the body."

KEY POINTS
• Casein protein supplementation may provide
the greatest benefit for increases in

The last cheat meal I had was on my birthday April 5th. Ate at Tony Romas. Before that was about 2 week prior. I find that i dont bounce back good from cheat meals, takes me almost a full week to recover. I went soft, and felt bloated for days. I hated it. At about 5 weeks out from the show on my second high carb day I get to eat 500+ grams. My trainer said things like pancakes and berries. I forget the full reasoning. Something to do with testing to see how well my body drys out from the spike in the following days. HE said stay very strict for the next few weeks, because those high carbs days are something to look forward to!

I agree, dairy is fine. With regards to the protein bar discussion I wouldn't eat them. I don't think the protein listed on the package is what you are actually getting. A lot of it is filler that shows up as protein but your body doesn't see it that way. Maybe it depends on the brand but I never eat them.

I am pretty selective with what I put in my body... I have one pig out meal a week... but it's still decent food... ribs and wings... I eat fast food about once a year and regret it :)

I honestly believe that the most anabolic substance known to man is food... Not everyone here puts loads of steroids in thier bodies... at least I hope not!

Last meal of the day for me is 1 scoop of whey protein, 125g of cottage cheese, 1 scoop of Vege Greens, 1 tbs of natural peanut butter, 1 tbs of flax meal and a bit of skim milk to mix well...I truly believe in consuming some casein before a good nights sleep.

dude, you got a trainer... ask them what you can eat. Do not listen to anyone other than the person you put your trust and confidence in. That's how ppl get messed up for a show. Ask him what you can sub :)

lol Unfortunitly my trainer is out of town this week! He answers my texts.. but sometimes a few hours too late! which is why i though id ask your opinions here.
I only eat dry curd cottage cheese, so virtually no dairy as well..
8 weeks left.. sometimes feels like an eternity.. sometimes feels like its not long enough!

good advice Nate....but he trains with my trainer also....and we have a list of replacements we can sub with....Or did you not get that part B...look at your sheets bro, he has all the things with proteins, carbs, and fats we can sub into our diet...I pretty much follow what he wrote down, but i do add in different foods as his list advised...
I dont do any carbs past 6 pm, so im not worried about my blood sugar while sleeping callmeb....

Also he is doing a shitload technique for our contest, he is testing you at 5 weeks ouit to see how you react and how many days it takes to shed the water etc and look dry again after your refeed...everyone is different...Im lucky, 2-3 days and im back hard again....some take 4-5 days...
i hope things are going well for you callmeb...keep in touch..

i eat 1 percent, or dry cottage cheese with salsa added in to liven it up.....works well bro....
i also sub in a meal here and there with ground in a coffee grinder oats, and whey protein, carry them in a shaker with a side of olive oil if reqd for fat in the meal and you have a perfect meal on the run....

just add water and you are good to go bro...

Ya I wasnt too concerned with what I can and cant eat..I have that part down! I just know Gord has things set so perfectly for me eating certian things at certian times.. Maybe he wants slow or fast release proteins at night.. and the vegg thing at night he just told me a few days ago.. That was really what i was concerned about..
( btw salsa and cottage cheese? Everyone has their own little tricks hey! , I prefer my cottage cheese sweet.. so I add some sugar free syrups to it, but maaaaybe il give the salsa a shot!! )
**Ironwill update your Sig.. 8 weeks now bro!

what flavor of whey do you use? do you blend that all up together? then add the jello to it?

sounds good... I think !!

I would go with eggs or cottage cheese to end the night.
