about to start cycle, have root canal scheduled. advice..

im about to start my cycle but i jsut came back from and i have a root canal scheduled. now i read that taking advil, tylenol etc hinders hypetrophy (so i will suffer through the pain and not take anything). so when i get on the cycle then do the root canal will the freezing shots the dentist does or anything in the root canal process hinder potential growth. any advice is apreciated thanks!

I've had 2 root canals and I didn't use any pain meds afterwards. I would say you're fine to go. There might be a problem if they put you on antibiotics and you want to take an oral. I'm not a doctor though....so.....

I would wait as well... just give it a bit time. Besides that, not that I ever had that happen to me, but wouldn.t eating be a pain in the ass??

I agree with the guys here...just give yourself a couple of weeks, no rush!!

I have had two roots canals done too, wtf I wanted to pull a gun to my head and end it all, the pain is tremendous..I--well, most of us, have high pain tolerance (people in the sport) but root canal is like no other IMO.

I don't believe the anti-biotics and the anabolics should be the main reason for stopping the cycle...but more to the ability to eat properly and the ability to deal with one big element at the time. Work on your root canal, establish normal eating patterns again, get rid of the pain, and then plan your juicer:)

Weird, I have had 3 done.. No biggie man.. They hurt for 2 days max then start to feel better. As far as Tylenol and Advil goes, giver man.. The whole gains and NSAID thing is grossly over exaggerated on these boards..It wont hinder your gains. I have taken 1200mg of Advil a day for various injuries on cycle and still gained 20 pounds, so I dont but the theory it hinders gains.

Most people will site some study that shows NSAID'S dramatically decreased protein synthesis during the first 24 hours, However when looking at how the body reacts to long term use of these drugs the outcome is much different. In fact, MD published an article a while ago that said Ibuprofen actually HELPS build muscle, completed debunking the previous theory. I will try and find that study

So I say go for it. Why wait

yeah i will most likely wait, i still have to shop around for my nolva anyways.. thanks for all the replys guys!!. im gonna make a cycle log for my first test e and d bol cycle once i start it. i had some work done yesterday and i feel like i have a hangover today, i go back friday, hopefully it will be my last visit. then start my cycle once i feel better.

While not a huge possibility, I would wonder about higher blood pressure and surgery while on.

I cant believe you posted this. I swear the exact same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago. Only difference is I'm 5-6 weeks into a cycle right now. Honestly bro, its just a root canal, your talking like its major surgery.


I didn't even end up getting the root canal done. I went for a second opinion, got the entire tooth pulled (not a pleasant experience) and didn't even use 1 pain killer. Its nothing bro, the worse part about it was sucking the tuna out from the hole it left in my jaw.

yeah haha, i wanted to pull my tooth out to get it over and done with so i could start my cycle, but the doctor kept insisting i should save it and my gf also. so i was like ****. did the gains keep going up steadily after u pulled ur tooth out?
