Hey there...We all have our character when we train,a state of mind that makes it easier to focus,to get in the game.

For me,I approach every gym time with a kinda' end of the world' feeling, nothing is more important around me than lifting that DB except for the occasional booty that walks by and make me loose my focus!:shock

Most of the guys at my gym that are big are rude and inconsiderate.. not kidding.. they don't move when you need to get by, they don't clean the equipment or take the weights down, or put them away, they move benches to the cables and leave them there when they're done.. like their shit don't stink.

I'm sure there's plenty of nice BB'rs but the majority of them in my area just make BBr's look bad, kind of like sport-bike riders.

It makes me train harder, I want to be a nice, big guy and get contribute to getting rid of the stereotype.

I AM ON A MISSION!! ;)

The gym is my time.... I just put my head phones on and mind my own business. Its my meditation time to reflect on everything going on in life and de-stress all the negative shit out of the system.

For me it is blocking everything out. No ipod at the gym for me. My trainer has said on a couple occasions that the intensity in my eyes is scary. I don't even want him talking to me while lifting, even if it is positive. If he needs to point something out, do it when my set is complete.

I try to ignore people as much as possible. Smelly people piss me off the most. I think im gonna start training in my nike dri fit gear that i wear under my hockey equipment just to give them a taste of their own medicine....

i require an ipod now, as the people at my gym are some of the biggest retards in history. I can hardly stand the sight, let alone the conversations being overheard.

I do do the IPOD like most said but when i go to the gym my mentality is completely serious. Its not mad but its a very high level of intensity and a desire to work as hard as physically possible in the time i spend. SOmetimes my workouts now are an hour but i rarely notice anyone or anything around.

The gym I'm at right now is pretty good. Very old school in regard to equipment (DBs to 190) and there's a few hard trainers and powerlifters there. However, they play sissy-assed Lady GaGa (he, he) and similar shit, which is kind of paradoxical.

I wear headphones at most gyms as certain music helps to nudge me into that very special focused zone one needs to be in to do an all out set. I also have an audio track of Ronnie Coleman screaming and freaking while he's training which also provides that nudge. If anyone wants the Coleman track you can find it here:

I seem to be able to tune others out without an ipod. I guess I got a lot of practice when I was married to my first wife.

I can't socialize at the gym, a nod here and there is enough for me. I try to keep my headphones in as much as possible. And when people try to talk to me, I pretend i just don't hear them. Keeps my intensity at its maxed. I just blast the rock music and get really into it and pumped up..

ya i have to move alot of gay shit to hit the dumbells, i am probably the only one in the gym doing just bbing so most of them are training for sports and stuff, or they are lazy ****ers who think 1 night a week training every body part they can think of then going home and drinking beer with there bros is gonna make them huge f off is all i can say. I dont like the headphone deal and dont give a shit about the noises that come out of me while training most look at me like i am nuts all red faced and shit lol i love it.

Personally, I only have to be worked up for my immediate set, in between I joke around and talk to people and have a fun time.

p.s. Lady GaGa should be killed in a horrible way.

I feel exactly the same way, I don't care how much the next guy is lifting beside me, or any of that nonsense there is only one thing I need to focus on and that's the 2 extra reps I NEED to grow!

On a side note, I wish A$$hats would start putting equipment away.

Ez curl bar with 45 plates, 3 benchs, and a barbell, All in the middle of the floor, the guy even looked at me as he left the gym doors..He knew I saw him on them all doing some circuit a minute ago, and just looks at me with this big dumb blank face. Just wow...

Btw he was wearing some outfit I'm sure he picked to impress everyone at the gym...lol ya know, "That Guy"

I switch on and off like a light bulb, I can go from talking to some dude to 100% intensity within a few seconds, the key is when people are talking, you just let it in one ear and out the other:p sometimes I just ignore people also, people probably think I am pretty ignorant as I will just completely zone out walk away and countinue my set, thats how I roll, if they dont like it fukm.

I'm basically the same way. Although the gym I train at I also worked at over the past 3 years so it makes it hard ignoring people when you know them. My intensity tends to increase as my workout progresses. Takes me a while to get into "the zone" haha.

I pretty much keep to myself. At times I feel cold for not being more social but I just can`t get in good workouts when doing so. And most people don`t know when they cross the line. Before you know it, you have some dude wanting to talk to you while your doing sets. This is where the hat and earphones come in...

But like Hurley said when you`re in the gym with the same people over a long period of time it`s hard not to. This is why if possible I sometimes change the time I train at. I`m sure to most I seem like an asshole especially when I`m really feeling it and going for new pr`s.

It's not just the big guys that do that though it's a lot of people at the gym. That's my pet peeve. People not putting shit back when they're done.

I go with the headphones mostly because I don't like all the music that is played. I got the noise canceling ear buds so it blocks out all the other noise....I try not to talk when I'm there but I don't want to be a douche if someone approaches me.
