...Which is, that if people believe the planet is on the path to apocalyptic ruin because of the world's dependence on petroleum - and that, without exaggeration, is the message of the global warming advocates - then the world's economies must radically shrink. We must do and have less of everything. We must make less, travel less, buy less - and endure the deeper hardship of more people out of work.

That is the inescapable message of a serious belief in global warming. No amount of chatter about a "green economy" or Twittering about all the "green jobs" about to materialize as soon as we "wean ourselves from our carbon dependency" - all rhetorical sugar-coating - will change it.

You should read some of the stuff in the New Scientist magazine. There was a huge article a few months ago where some scientists wrote in 2048 about how the "great experiment" was a success and the scientists were in charge. Scary assed 1984 meets Brave New World with Stalin and Pol Pot thrown in. Green totalitiarianism coming to destroy a democracy near you, cuz being green and in love with Gia means forcing those who don't agree with you to live like you wish them to, regardless of what they think. And if they don't go quietly, a dirt nap works well.

I have nothing against people who want to voluntarily reduce their consumption or be "green", but don't force your voluntary poverty on the rest of us!

Such a sweet innocence!! These are the type of people who love nothing more than forcing their progressive views on those "lesser" than them. Al Gore comes to mind. Dude flies around the world and has a 20,000sq' house that he buys "carbon credits" for bwaawaaaa. Kinda like the sins the Catholic church sold in the middle ages. What utter BULLSHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BWwahahaha. The environmentalists are concerned that their eco friendly coffee roaster will ruin their precious property.
They want their coffee, but just don't want it being made near where they live. The most hilarious part is that Bateman says the smoke is carcinogenic, which leads me to wonder why he would drink something that would increase toxins in the air.
