Every so often , maybe every few weeks, when I do a quad shot, I have blood squirt out, pretty hard. This only happens on occasion, but I was curious as to why, and does any of the juice actually come out with the blood or not?

Oh yah, and I always aspirate.

Are you using a 1.5" needle and going all the way in? You can try this too: draw a line from the middle of your knee up to your upper quad , then draw a horizontal line across the middle of the first line. Now on your right quad the safest zone to inject in, is the upper right quadrant. Hope this helps.

did you check for blood? lol did you haul back before injecting? you might of just hit a vessel, but whatevers, it happens. what WMK said is accurate tho.

You are probably nicking a vein or a blood spot. It happens to me sometimes. Make sure you move the needle straight.

sorry for the hijack, but anyone else have more pain breaking the skin on the quad shots? ive only done 2, both times had to poke in like 4 different spots cause each time i pressed the needle in i got a sharp pain, so i assumed i was hitting a nerve or something... then when i got the needle in through the skin, i felt another layer under, i guess my muscle, which was super hard to poke through, once i got it in that layer tho it was good to go....

the needle went through my delts like butter tho

I get that too although I get it in a number of spots on quad or delt and even lats. Seems weird.

Sometimes I'll numb the area with an ice pack, swab then giv'er.

if i just jab, it often hurts to poke through, but if i kind of pinch it, poke then let go its all good.

as far as the blood, you passed through a vein or vessel on the way in, and when you pulled it out, it gushed. Apply pressure to minimize the bruise

ya i get these squirts hahah, when I do glute shots, I think i pass right thru a vein because when i'm injecting I can feel the pressure building up, and once I pull the pin out blood squirts out.

i get that in my quads all the time, i got a trick tho, once it starts hurting just wait a few then slowly keep pushing, i guess its not really a trick but it helps for me

One time a buddy injected quads after a leg workout. As soon as he jabbed the pin, blood filled the needle haha. so stupid...

I would highly recommend not doing quad shots. They are the most notorious for trouble...ie infection, bad shots, pain, etc....my client (doc) says 99% of all bad shots he has to deal with (patients are mostly BB) are quad shots...he tells every one of them not to do them period.

Ok, so just stick to delts, glutes, and bis? That's the only other sites I do.

I've been doing the quad shots for the last couple years but I only get the squirt on occasion.

Delts, glutes, lats are fine...bis can be very troublesome as well...ive seen some nasty issues with bis.

I never had injecting problems with my quads. No infections, or blood squirting. I am also a bit paranoid when it comes to injecting 1.5" down into my muscle, so I always clean my hands with alcohol, then the top of my bottle and then wherever I am shooting into gets a nice scrub down with alcohol.

To avoid blood squirts, I am a firm believer in using the upper right quadrant of your quad. A lot of doctors who teach their patients about how to inject their own test when on HRT, show them where to do it on the qaud and glute.
I also don't see why the quad would be more prone to infection as opposed to other parts on your body unless you aren't doing a clean injection, or alternating injection sights, especially when user esthers.

Agreed. Infections happen from bad habits and cleanliness issues, not location.

dOn a side note, you shoulf try and aspirate all the time, if you hit a vein or artery pull back and try again. it scares me to think that it gets alittle tough and so you push harder. IMO this is not a fast food joint or a convenience store. with the amount of poking that is going on here you need to practise patience and cleanliness, or odds are you will develope an infection sooner or later. as well if you don't rotate sights you can get an oil build up and that can suck as well.

keep it clean

Peace

where exactly are you shooting in your quad? ideally you want to inject on the outside of the quad (Vastus lateralis) - not on top (Rectus Femoris) - here there are many nerves and it doesnt feel nice hitting them.

regarding the squirting blood. I too have had that happen several times first time freaked me out. I asked around and learned if you pass through / nick a vein the blood pools - then the pressure build up - remove needle - blood take the easiest path - out.

nothing to worry about

I have a lot of scar tissue in my delts...ya, I abuse steroids - so what? anyway, pushing through scar tissue take a little more work than a fresh meaty muscle.

also, about aspirating - you will only pull blood into the syringe if the needle is sitting in a vein – not if you pass through one – that is when you can get blood squirting out.
Usually you know when you hit a vein as it tend to hurt more.
Just think about when you get blood taken – sucks when someone else is sticking you..

lol do you ever just want to say, **** lady let me do it and i'll be out here pain free. or am IV at the hospital, holy hell, the last time the nurse took 6 tries, I finally said, look sister, it's right there in plain sight, it's not like your fighting through 50% bf or a heroin junkie, she wasn't my friend after that, and the wife got mad at me too. **** em

Aspirate, just do it (sorry Nike) do it to be safe. peace of mind. It won't stop the eruption if you nick a vein or go through, but you should do it out of habit. IMO

yes, always aspirate - better to be safe than sorry - as my mother used to say..

I agree, but only so you aren't wasting any gear. Do you know how much gas you would have to shoot into a vein to **** you up? A lot, that's how much.

the problem with shooting in a vein is not that your gonna instantly die...
what concerns me is that shooting oil into your bloodstream can cause clothing that can or cannot end up being a big problem. I personally would not want a blood cloth hitting my lungs, heart or brain which can be a shitload of fun, lol..
