hey anyone know wat if any documents are needed to cross the US-Canada border?? Planin on doin some shopin in the states tomorow but not sure wat i need to take.

passport........ good luck going down there and coming back up though.... i believe you have to be down there for 72 hours before you can claim bringing somethign across the border

I think its 200$ =24hrs

Remember, if you buy anything made in Mexico or the U.S. then you don't have to pay duty!

i dont' think you need pasport yet to drive over, but not 100% on that. I thought drivers lic is ok?

here in nb you dont need pass port yet , if your there for a day they let us bring home groceries spent about 100.00 they didnt ask for duty or anything , ont might be tougher tho

ohh you might be right, i heard word that a passport will be required eventually, guess it hasnt been put into action yet

What Canadian citizens currently need to enter the United States by land
Currently, Canadian citizens, including children, DO NOT require a passport to enter the United States by land.

Canadian citizens should, however, carry documents that demonstrate their identity and citizenship. The following documents are some accepted forms of identification:

A birth certificate; and
A driver’s licence.
Oral declarations of identity and citizenship may be accepted, but it is recommended that travellers carry identification.

Canadian citizens will not require a passport or other secure document to enter the United States at land ports of entry until summer 2008 at the earliest.
