what to do with used pins?

I know this has probably gone around a few times but I think it's always interesting to see what is done with used pins. I myself throw them in the cat litter bags, there are 2 advantages to this.

1) Who in their right mind is gonna play with/search through cat shit.
2) the wife loves me even more when she doesn't have to clean the bins.

I'm just curious if anyone actually invests in a sharps container and takes them to be disposed of? and if you do have you ever had any issues?

I have a majic truck that comes around once a week and makes them dissapear for me lol

i box them up real good and put the box out with my garbage. i make sure nothing could ever or would ever end up being a danger to anyone else. i always recap my pins too when im done with them....(obviously)...

if you took then to a std clinic or walk in clinic and said please dispose of them proper they would be happy too.

i use to garbage mine till three doors down a dog got in my garbage ariped apart the box with pins in it then the next day while my neibour was walking with her kids one saw it a picked up a pin in front of her needless to say i had it caped but i could never let something even have the chance of happening again so i take my shit to a std clinic and tell them there r from jucie use please get rid of them and they are more then happy to do so


felt very bad about this incident and will never chance something like this happening again

I have always used a 5lbs container to get rid of those suckers---by the hundreds :( :(
I make sure I wrap that sucker up real tight before getting rid of it.

As for people asking questions? Whenever people see me walk into the store, and ask for needles--2 full boxes at the time...I am very polite, well presented, but my image prevents them from getting "too cozy" with the questions :D :D hahahhahahhaah

And if I was eve asked: FOR STEROIDS buawhahahahha I'd love to see the look on their face.

Ya just go in,and ask the Pharmacist they will give you the Big Yellow Container.It has Bio-Medical Waste in Red writing on the Yellow Container,you should see how people look at you when you walk out with it,if they don't give you a bag to put it in.

Me too. I use electrical tape and make absolutley sure it won't open, even if kicked and or tossed around. I ALWAYS put myself in the shoes of others when it comes to needles and proper disposal.

Guys, you really should be using sharpes containers. Never say never that someone will not hurt themselves on your used pins. Nothing is that failsafe when dealing with machines that handle garbage...

Thought I was being safe by filling up old 5.5 lb protein jars then putting that foam insulation in it and on it as a cap. But someone mentioned how garbage collectors compress everything so it's likely some needles will escape their confinement. Scary thought. Guess it's off to the drugstore to get a sharp's container or maybe i'll send for one from Androusa. Certain drug stores & hospitals will anonymously accept such containers, eh? Eh?

Every couple of weeks i carefully take them and wait till im the only one in the crapper and unload them. No worries about the public, kids, dogs or the garbage man poking themselfs.

The is only one safe way to dispose of needles. They have to be dropped into a sharps container and then the sharps container has to be disposed of at a place where they will properly dispose of the needles. Almost any pharmacy in Canada will give out free sharps containers, no questions asked, they are not legally allowed to ask. If they do ask, diabetic. Almost all hospitals, medical clinics, and pharmacy's in Canada will take full sharps containers. If you don't know call your local pharmacy, medical clinic, or hospital first and see if the will take it. You will always find a safe place in any community to dispose of needles because every community has diabetics and these people need to have a safe way to dispose of needles.

Is doesn't matter how much work you put into packaging your needles, you should never put them in the garbage. Almost all garbage once it hits the dump is compacted or crushed with a loader and no container will survive that and your needles will then be exposed in the landfill. You might think who care has long has it is in the landfill. Well most of your needles will have traces of blood on them. Those dam rat, ravens, crows, rodents, gulls etc will find them because the sent of blood and who knows how far they will carry them away.

then just drop off at hospital when full - which takes a while.
the hospital is all too happy to have them. they would rather take them and dispose of them properly then you simply toss in the trash.
