its a newer breed been around since around 97
some breeders got together and bred am staffs and pitties and a few other things to create the beasts
so yes a hybrid

not everyone can handle this breed and those who choose to get a dog like this to make themselves look tough or "gangster" are simpley put weak.I know breeders who will not sell to these types and this is sumthing i will not do either
this breed is in trouble due to some peoples ugly treatment of the breed so the dog should not be banned the people with this sick head should not be allowed animals with heavy fines and long jail terms as punishment! who r we to decide an animal should be snuffed out becuz of others actions punish them not these unsuspecting dogs who only do what they are showen

I agree that it's the house that the animal grows up in that determines it's temperment, my uncle owned a golden retriever which is known to be THE family dog, and it snapped and snarled at members of my family, well my jackass uncle had a shock collar on the thing and we all think he got physically abusive with it. I've got 4 labs and they are treated like part of the family I like pitbulls and if the ban got lifted in Ontario and i had room i would get one. I just don't see a pitbull that is properly socialized and cared for being nasty. Every single pit i've come across has looked somewhat intimidating but they were all huge babies, quick to roll over at your feet and play.

Man I LOVE these dogs. I have an APBT from texas, hes dark tanned (almost red) with a white chest and a red nose. He is JACKED.. 105lbs like 8%BF, lol. We raised him to be the biggest suck, he doesnt bark and the hackels only go up when you F with the family. Ive had 2 dogs in my life, and godbless my old one but I couldnt ask for a better dog. I'll probably get him tattoed on me when he goes.

Most dog attacks are perpetrated by family pets, and the dog with the worst record for attacks is the lab. I guess because they are cute, its OK for owners to not be aware of the dogs demeanor, or let the kids torment the dog to no end. When you own a dog, and have kids, you have to teach the kids not to bug the dog, because dogs don't comprehend like humans. My kids can probably torment my beagle, but I don't let them. I have taught them and am teaching them to respect his space, and to be gentle when they interact with him. Oh and don't approach my kids too fast as my beagle will defend them.
