i'm starting to watch the diet now, i heard the past of mercury being in tuna and or canned salmon. i prefer salmon. i just don't want chicken all the time. eat only steaks when i BBQ otherwise they taste funny to me. i was strict before but i got bored with chicken all the time. i guess i need some recipe's.
without them i can't cook. lol maybe not anyways
is pork okay. easy to cook with veggies. stir fry man.
any suggestions.
cheers

I would not say pork is all that good for you. B/Qing all the time isn't good for you either, taste good though :)

I think we short change pork. A nice pork roast or tenderloin is very lean and tasty.

I think lean cuts of pork (tenderloin) are okay.
I think the mercury issue in not a problem in salmon only tuna.

Pork tenderloin is very good for a change and healthy too, comparable to fresh skinless chicken breasts. Lots of protein and it's lean. More than half of the fat in it is healthy mono and polyunsaturated fats. Plus its not loaded with sodium like those IQF seasoned chicken breasts.
Pork tenderloin roasted per 100grams
146 cal
26.6 g pro
3.6 g total fat
1.5 g sat fat
1.5 g mono fat
0.6 g poly fat
67 mg cholesterol
54 mg sodium
Chicken breast, roasted, skinless per 100grams
147 cal
29.9 g pro
2.0 g total fat
0.6 g sat fat
0.8 g mono fat
0.5 g poly fat
75 mg cholesterol
51 mg sodium

Pork Ribs, Pork Sausage, Pork Chops, Bacon, Smoked Hams, but my favorite!
Ordelles de Cris (I dont know if I spelled that properly) which are basically deep friend pieces of bacon. Super tasty when drinking beer.

Grrrrr everytime I hear somebody mention the so-called mercury content in tuna--HUMMMMM
Pink tuna, the cans have a small dolphin drawing on the side are VERY, if not EXTREMELLY human friendly.
I know that this threads purpose is not directed at a discussion of tuna and its mercury content.
Over the years I have known of PLENTY of healthy big fellas that introduce can after can of tuna in their diet daily.
When I "bulk" I intake roughly 4 cans DAILY, consistently for months...and have done so for many many years...I am alive, kicking, healthy and very verile (in case you were wondering :D :D )
Anyhow, some great info on meats up here. I eat pork tenderloins 2 times weekly...chicken 3 times, red meats once, beef once. I incorporate tuna during day time meals..and help out with shakes.
My diet in regards meats is very consistent. Well eggwhites too :)

nothing wrong witha good tenderloin. also, if you dont want canned tuna and such, try Sole, or Haddock, both are good white fish, and are great!
