During most of the yearI tend to go with a whole food zonish type of eating and I think I generally eat fairly well (Ignoring the palumbo diet I'm on till May). I've been thinking about how I can improve the quality of food that I eat and started googling.

It turns out there are plenty of local farmers, ranchers and fishermen that sell direct:

Organic grass fed beef, bison, elk, organic free range chicken, organic eggs, pickerel, cheese

I'm pretty stoked and have been shooting off emails. So far the only hard thing hard to find is real milk.

It looks like there are a lot better ways of eating than Safeway.

You bet there is better than safe way... We are very fortunate to live on Vancouver Island. There is an endless supply of natural/organic produce and meats here. Most of our greens are bought from the farmers market and the local butcher get most of his meats locally. We haven't found organic milk but we don't really drink a lot of milk anyway.

Organic milk should be not that hard to find? As for eggs, I eat Vita Egg's Organic Omega 3 eggs from Steinback MB. The best are the true free range farm eggs where the birds go outside and run around in the bush eating bugs. Long ago we had chickens when we lived out in the country. They had several acres of overgrown land to root around in plus the grain we fed them. You've never had eggs like the ones we had, deep orange yolks. There weren't a lot of crickets chirping around our place.

I've been making my peanut butter once a week @ vita health. I will definitely try the eggs.

Organic milk can be had @ Organza but raw milk appears to require a friend with a dairy.

I'd love to find organic milk and eggs around here, all i can find is the knockoffs at the supermarket, alberta is not that organic, but its getting better.
