Just moved recently and there is a Bell satellite dish connected to the house. My question is, do I just need to purchase a reciever for it to work? Also, someone was telling me about buying codes, any feed back would be swell.

yep, the dish is useless without a receiver.

if you can get past the part where you try and turn the dish to match the signal to the receiver to a high enough strength, your good to go.

But make sure your off cycle when trying this, because its ****ing frustrating haha.

Wait, just realized this isnt the AAS section.

well if your a user, Avoid this task haha

If the dish as on the house it should be pointed already. You do need a reciever. If you plan on paying "a guy" for your programming, be careful...when you steal american programming, you can usually get away with it, but theft of Canadian Telecommunications is a different ball game. It's not worth a criminal record.

everyone does it though.

The cops arent gonna go for the guy using the chipped receiver. They want the guy who programs the chips.
If you know a guy who can do it, i wouldnt think twice about it, its pretty common to have a chipped dish, legal or not.

I wouldn't waste your time/money on a chip. Bell has recently gone through a card swap with stronger encryption that hasn't been broken yet, and they're gearing up to switch to mpeg 4 so it's going to start the process all over again.

You can use either a Bell Express Vu receiver or an after market receiver. If you use the Bell receiver youll need to get a new card and youll have to buy a programming package to receive a signal. If you go with the after market you can download the code yourself on a USB chip and install it yourself. This will allow you to pick up US programming for free. If the dish has dual LNB's then youll also be able to get free pay per view and more channels.

The viewsat ultralite works great and is quite inexpensive.

no more bell, but you can go and point your dish to dishnet and still recv everything...I have a viewsat ultra and it is awesome....Nagra 3 has us in a clinch right now, but it is only slightly better than nagra 2...the fix is already out there and just waiting release after, rumormill says april 1st...
There is a code out there it will be hacked, some of the coders are awesome...so far never been a charge in Canada for free to air receivers....one pending in Arizona now, but no worries, i would buy a aftermarket recvr...usb stick, plug in, go to host site, download new file, good to go in literally 5 minutes, and it is very cheap...google viewsat and you will find a local distributor in most cases...i just met a great dude that is a wizard on this and already has bell up and running, sans ppv, but its coming...they come in hi def as well....
free porn...woohoo, bell porn was better, except 1 channel..

Cut and paste from 0dd thread....

With the introduction of the newest encryption system from “The Kudelski Group” which devolved (Nagravision3) for DN and B3ll introduced their new encryption system last Nov 08’ the system seems to be secure at this time but the rumors seem none stop.
Asof today the rumor mill still flows to all FTA Site’s, rumors about a new hack of NDS and Nagra3 encryption system seems to have some merit.
The potential of the hack Nagravision3 system will be a major blow to the ailing Swiss coding specialist Kudelski. This past week, made known a substantial gain in the first part of 2009. The Cost was mainly suffered by the company had to make codes cracked by television weather to recover. Even the loss of customers by the long-term free channels has to look at the losses to Kudelski. In the Netherlands using the digital television Canal Digital, Mediaguard and UPC (Nagravision3) the encryption of Kudelski well as other products and services of the Swiss company
Since yesterday monitors our editors increasingly rumors about the possible hack of the NDS Videoguard and Kudelski Nagravision3 codering system. In practice this could mean that the package of Sky Italia (Videoguard), the Spanish D (Nagravision3) and the German Premiere (Nagravision3) without paying any adjustments can be made visible
The possible Nagravision3 hack is of a commercial nature. There will soon be a "smart card ijskrabber" on the market which brought more than 120 euro’s will cost. The force and any lasting effect of this smart card is totally uncertain, hence the pet name "ijskrabber”.

Today come from Italy also becoming increasingly stubborn rumors that have never publicly hacked Videoguard encoding of the English NDS prey would have been cases of hackers. It talks about using an older model Nokia (Dbox) and the (Dreambox) receiver via a smart card.

Direct Information:
With (RSA) and (IDEA) digital encryption standards equipment decided to raise NP. D + and a Premium Card N3 (After KARTENTAUSCH) It seems a (backdoor) has been found in the ROM180 Card using (D+) tools on Rom142 (TV Cabo) tool is really it is not a tool for (MOSC Cabo), that does a TV to him (Cabo ermölglicht tickets of MOSC) in all the free air channels (except PPV). The fact is that the new system of (N3) can be breathed, and now we are seeing testing done on (DVB-Cards) and some small hacks on (emulator’s boxes). This is ofcourse the first steps in a viable fix for all (stand-alone) "FTA" Boxes today.

Please note: I would stress again that no (0fficial Hack) has been released and it would still be some months before a workaround could be released for any (DTH) STB.

But yesterday, Mr. Charles Ergen (CEO) of DN "announced in a Memo to the (SI) department that he would be releasing the (G4) card for all PPV Movie, PPV Sports, and all PPV Porn Channels within the next few months for all (VIP) model MPEG4 boxes.
I believe this is a calculated move to counter any and all (loopholes), and or (backdoors) that some (NDS) and (Kudelski Group) coders might have left into their older system Nagra1 and Nagra2 encryption systems that Nagra3 is based on.
This would ofcourse circumvent all work hackers have done up to this time on Nagra3 systems to date, and will cause all the work done up to this point to be worthless. I personally believe this may have been his plan from the beginning and force hackers to stop work on the new system and to wait for the release of Nagravision (G4) cards
