Currently im doing a moderate carb diet, one cheat meal a week

Basically: 40g whey/50g oatmeal/1tbs PB
And replace whey with chicken/steak/tuna(wmayo), and 1 cup rawbrocooli for 2-3 meals of the day
No carbs after 6pm

My question regards sleeping in on weekends, and napping. I've read that eating carbs before sleep is not ideal. If I plan on napping say at 1pm, what should my pre-nap meal consist of? Just protein and fat? Should i wait an hour after eating before napping? Can I go back to eating carbs from 2:30pm to 6pm?

Also, on the weekend, I wake up around 8am, piss and eat, then go back to bed until 10-11am. My question, should I eat carbs with that first meal if I plan on going back to sleep right after? Recently I've just been having a protein shake and dozing off again, but im not sure that’s optimal.

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks!!

I used to think about these kind of things also. In a sense I think you`re overthinking stuff. If you opt for a protein fat meal before a nap you may not be getting all the carbs you need (at least for me anyway). If you`re training later on in that day, those extra carbs may give you a better workout. The lack of carbs may also make you look flat. So it`s really a matter of trying it and seing what happens. For me no matter what, there will always be 3 meals with carbs, and I`m never really that active if I`m not in the gym.

I used to get up and eat and go back to bed as well, had carbs in the meal. If anything I was more rested when I got to the gym and would even take another nap when I got back home. I don`t see how you can`t get lean if you cut the carbs from the last 3 meals of the day. On training days it would only be the last 2 meals that I cut out carbs. Providing you`re not a pure endomorph it should work.
