Hes trying to end the waste of taxpayer money a long gun registry would deliver. Long guns are not used in the vast majority of gun violence crimes. Let the hunters hunt, and keep the gang banging little phuks in jail. That will solve most of the problems. Banning guns doesnt do a phuking thing either. You may as well ban crime while you're at it.

Exactly. it's expensive to run that registry.

i just emailed my MP asking him to once again vote in favour if bill c-391, i hope all of us who are in favour of scrapping the registry will email or call their MP and let them know that their vote on this matter will affect the way we vote in the next federal election, the billions of dollars we are wasting on this program could be much better spent on Health care/education etc...

The antis are working hard to keep the registry and us law abiding gun owners need to voice our opinions too be heard. the registry is only in place so LE can spy on us.

whatever they spend it on coulnt be nearly as wasteful as this registry has been.

I'm willing to guarantee that this will not result in a tax cut.

Yep.

Long gun registry = Politics IE pandering to womens groups after the Montreal massacre.
Scrapping the registry = more politics..... Making people think that taxes will be lowered from scrapping it = nonsense.
Colossal waste of money though.

I own rifles.... never registered them. Nobody is enforcing the registry, at least where I live. Encountered the Game Wardens once when they were looking for someone, asked me if my gun was registered.... I said no.... that was all they said about it lol.

IMHO... The whole thing started because the vast majority of non-gun owners don't have a clue about what laws already existed..... The registry doesn't PREVENT ANYBODY from getting a gun, the FAC and Restricted weapons permits already did that and still do.
9 out of 10 people I've talked to who were in favor of the registry were under the impression that it somehow restricted who can get a gun.
Too many people confuse our gun laws with the States.

Probably not. But hopefully it's put toward something more useful. That is of course if the politicians don't skim most of it first.

One of the anti's is also involved with the Sierra Club, which in turn is funding the long gun registry. They don't want us hunting anymore or going "disturbing" the earth even though we have always been part of the eco system. Its all about people who have never done and don't understand what really happens in the food chain.
I detest the Sierra Club and their way of lobbying.

I don't always agree with all of their tactics either, or PETA's, but in most instances humans have actually disrupted the whole food chain and are actually destroying the Ecosystem.
