View Full Version : First day of HIT
So I switched to HIT training today, and I just had the weirdest experience ever. A few hours after my workout, I was on my way to work when I noticed my hand was covered in blood. I looked in the mirror and I had a huge nose bleed wich has never happened to me before. Not even when I was on gear. Then a few hours later my traps and upper back cramp up. It was a crazy pump just like being on D-bol and tren, but I have been clean for months.
Is this normal for heavy duty style training? The pumps are insane, but the random nose bleeding is something that I can do without.

The nose bleed could be unrelated, what was your workout like as far as sets and reps?
just curious because everyone has a different idea of HIT training.

I agree with that statement.
HIT works for some body types, but even then guys like Dorian would do multiple warm up sets before their sets to failure.
Obviously it depends on what an individual's goals are, but Durk did you ever get bleeding noses before HIT?
It could be change of weather and season because I always get more bleeding noises in spring and fall.

Heavy duty training was created by Mike Mentzer, who had learned of high intensity training from Casey Viator who then introduced him to Arthor Jones the creator of nautilus equipment and the HIT theory, Mike Mentzers training was a little different from Jones as he used more sets and exersize.
For some people HIT works phenomenal, the biggest problem is generating the intensity required for it to work.
I used rest/pause, and partials at the end of the set, and it seemed to give me a lot of intensity.

Nope never gotten a bleeding nose without getting smacked in it first lol

oh ok i see i bought the mentzer heavy duty book a while back out of curiosity and it was a couple bodyparts a day with one superset to failure on each (rest pausing would definately crank up the intensity as well as the partials) and he was saying once your advanced enough to only train every 11th day haha I think thats a bit extreme but if anything truly good came from it it gets people to take notice of the importance not to overtrain and to keep a detailed log book. I do believe that HIT works i just think mentzer took it a little weird at the frequency and marketing of nautalis haha. I have been training DC style as of late and i seem to be responding well to it
Well my hit routine is kinda like if DC and heavy duty had sex and made babies.

It is a routine by a guy known on some forums as Razor Ripped, and no I didnt pay him. He gave it to me on one of his Q&A threads.
I know its not HIT in the traditional sence but its not really DC either.
