If someone were having 75g dextrose shake immediatley post workout and then was eating 50g protein and 50-75g carbs one hour later do you think it is neccesary or beneficial for them to add protein to the post workout shake?

Isolate protein and oatmeal, or a banana, is my routine. Alot of protein. I was always told you need to load up on protein immediatly after training.

Extremely important, quick acting protein and quick acting carbs. So whey isolate or a blend and dextrose in your pwo shake.
you got to jumpstart your recovery asap

I would drink the two seperately though...I'm used to using Waxy Maize post workout and the protein interferes with the absorption of the carbs/aminos/etc, so I'd suppose Dextrose wouldnt be any different. I pound the carbs drink back immediately powo, head home shake, then whole meal an hour or so afterwards.
Lately for me its just Peptopro with Crystal Light and some gummy berries. The waxys been bloating me up.

Yup, i always drink my dextrose or waxy maze first, then a protein shake about 20-30mins later. Get the carbs in first to replenish liver/muscle glycogen, then the protein for muscle repair shortly after... i have read that taking protein before glycogen is adequately replenished will cause the body to convert some protein into glucose rather than use it to repair muscle tissue...what a waste of protein...

Yes very....a good whey isolate IMO is essential.
