Any problems or weird looks when you got it?

Did you straight up just ask for Humalog R insulin?

I'm thinking about this,,, but I want to give it a month or so and see how my training partner progresses before I make any decisions.

This is the only Insulin you can get OTC.

It's fast acting and goes out of your system in approx 7 hours, if I'm correct.

Yeah, I just walked up to the pharmacist and told her I need Humalog R Insulin, and she gave it to me.

I don't see any danger in using it, Im going to start low and work my way up, and see how I feel.

Correction, you can get a varied array of insulin otc...humulin R as well as humalog and others. Just ask the pharmacist for what you want and they will give it to you by law. Humalog is faster acting then Humulin R. Humalog takes 10-15 min to begin working and max effect is at 60-90 minutes. Humulin R takes 30-60 min to begin working and max effect at 2-4 hours.

Humulin:
Humulin® R (REGULAR human insulin injection [rDNA origin])

Humulin® N (NPH human insulin injection [rDNA origin])

Humulin® 70/30 (70% human insulin isophane suspension, 30% human insulin injection [rDNA origin])

Humulin® 50/50 (50% human insulin isophane suspension, 50% human insulin injection [rDNA origin])

Humalog:
Humalog® (insulin lispro injection [rDNA origin])

Humalog® Mix75/25™ (75% insulin lispro protamine suspension, 25% insulin lispro injection [rDNA origin])

Humalog® Mix50/50™ (50% insulin lispro protamine suspension, 50% insulin lispro injection [rDNA origin])

Besides 150 grams of dextrose and protein, what else is needed after a slin shot?

I wouldn't EVER reccomend having the drink AFTER the shot. Have it immediately before.

This way if you knock yourself out on the cupboard door you don't go into a coma while your unconscious. I know that wouldn't be the plan. . .but people don't get ****ed up according to a plan. . shit happens. Err on the side of not dying and have the drink 10 seconds before the shot.

Good idea, I'll try that.

I also put extra drinks in my car, locker, etc. just in case.

Yesterday was funny, I took 5iu of slin, and realized I didn't have my protein/dex drink ready, I was freaking out,so I ran to the kitchen and started mixing my shake in such a hurry,but It was finally done and I drank it down like beer.

Always have your shake ready.

Hypoglycemia dosen't scare me anymore, what I'm more worried about is developing diabetes.

I'm taking a dex/prot. drink immiediately before and after my slin shot.

When you feel cold sweats and shaking you are still a ways off from actually hitting complete hypoglycemia. If you let it continue you will start to get tunnel vision and the tunnel gets narrower as the time passes. When it closes you usually pass out. This doesnt mean you are dead. It actually is alot harder than you think to die from insulin usage but this doesnt mean you shouldnt exercise caution and be informed.
The other point is insulin usage will NOT make you diabetic. It actually removes some of the load on the pancreas in essence giving it a break.

thats silly, why would you want someone to go hypo or die... help as much as possible to avoid all risks...

Side note fellas;

where do you buy your dextrose?, it is not sold at GNC, where do I obtain it?

The questions he is asking are ones he should have already considered and known. He should be asking questions to fine tune his protocol.

Get dextrose at Bulk Barn or your local brew-it-yourself store.

Very good points P, i have said it a few times now, slin (if knowledgeable and responsible) can be used as a supplement to help relieve the pancreas of some of its load with our high carb lifestyle...But of course one needs to know what to eat and when etc. etc. prior to getting into these details, or one will just become chubby...
im talking 2-3 ius supplemented post workout etc..Not 10ius plus that i have read about..
It also works wonders on the the ol SHBG reduction as well...;)

yup, each line is 1 iu, also if you have gh at 10 ius per bottle and add 1 ml of water, each 10 lines is 1 iu...:)
is that what you are asking??

another off topic dextrose question.... They say typically 10g of Carbs for every 1IU of insulin right...

If you dont have an electronic scale how do you measure this? Since volume cant typically work because density is different... Or is rough measurements alright

1tsp = 3g
1tbsp = 5g

and I can use my protein powder scoop which is 30g

This sound about right?

Pick up a food scale..it really helps (Walmart, Sears.....etc) I use my scale everyday to measure my food.
