View Full Version : Possible to buy laptops with XP anymore?
I am getting so sick of windows vista, constantly crashing and freezing it's driving me insane. Is there anyways to buy new good quality laptops with windows xp as option for operating system? I have read about switching from windows vista to xp on current laptops but it sounds like a pain in the ass to do....

I think since June xp was taken off systems and replaced with Vista. You can try those little computer stores on the corner of a street or strip mall. They may have one around but the major places shouldn't have anymore.

You can get an Xp downgraded (upgrade) with the Dell business class laptops. I believe others offer this on business class computers.

SRT8,
go to an Acer dealer and ask, Acer still offers XP on business machines, but you are paying a premium. You can also just bite the bullet and buy a copy of XP Pro and do a wipe and reload on your Vista machine.
Thanks guys, i think im going to just buy a copy and deal with it myself. We have 3 laptops at home and hate using them all lol, so 1 copy of xp is cheaper then 3 new laptops.

I just spent several thousands on a lap top that can virtually give me blow jobs on the go...but I am soooooooooooooo disappointed with Vista :( It really is an idiot of a system...WTF I have all this peripherals that can only use XP or other than vista...my printer, fax....all not compatible with vista...on top of it all, the lap top keeps asking me to enter the registry number, then it tells me that the numbers do not exist>?????
It is astonishing that in this day and age, we consumers have to fight over a gawd damn system...microsoft **** us hard this time around.
Sorry for the rant, it is 7:30AM, on my first cup of coffee, and JUST got my PMS because of this topic :D :D my other two PCs have XP installed from factory, they are my best friends ;)

Wait till they release Windows 7. That'll be coming soon. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/
I have yet to venture into vista. Don't plan to either. I wonder if this Windows 7 will correct some of the issues in Vista. Most likely not.

Some of the issues I have encountered with Vista:
-system NOT compatible with XP peripherals such as: printers, fax..it does not recognize the drivers at all.
-Software such as even some of the microsoft templates, NOT friendly with Vista.
-Downloading items onto your PC--I had a difficult time for example trying to find where Vista had placed a blackberry file. I could see it on the drive, BUT could not pull it out---interestingly enough the uploading of it had been successful. Vista advised me that it was fine, but I could not open it hummmm
I am sure that I could go on and on with other stuff....and why is it asking me to re-register my operating system over and over :D beeeyotch!
