How long did you wait until you went to the hospital? Always wondered at what point should you get medical attention.

seems that way bro im not blaming the gear musta been me although i used a site ive used alot b-4 and was safe perhaps i let the pin sit 2 long b-4 i shot as i got ready had a shower uncapped the pin, phone rang got it came back did the deed somethin airborne is all i can think was picked up on the pin, oh well it is a risk every time.

Are you using UGL gear?

infection would most likely be caused by injecting bacteria, and not so much by having the pin uncapped.
That being said, why the heck would you leave the pin uncapped???? takes 1 second to recap, or do not answer the phone LOL
Do you reuse the pins?
Is the gear from reliable source?

I wash my hands in rubbing alchol before I even start, gear/pins are in a ziplock bag (bathrooms are full of bacteria), put everything down on a fresh piece of bounty, etc

How long did you wait to see a doctor?
I had an abscess in my glute and went to the ER right away. They took blood to check if my body was fighting an infection and did an ultra sound on my ass cheek. Ended up just sending me home and letting it heal on its own.... which it did.
Moral of the story..... don't wait to go to the hospital if you think something is wrong.
Ever since then, I go through IPA like crazy cleaning pretty much everything before an injection.

Ok whole story did shot fri woke up sat very slight pain which is norm for me usually coached hockey for the boy, sat night got progressivly worse and site was inflamed sun morning woke up with a fever =bad sign went to er sun afternoon. Yea i will def be paying huge attention to my inj routeine fron now on 3 more days then back to gym i am a little leary about repinning this stuff now i cant deduce wether it was my fault or the gear's i would be leaning towards my end of things but for me it will be safer to wait till im 100% again, Yes it was a UG lab great 1 at that hope it was my fault.

hmm... not to doubt it was an infection, but so soon? what was your temperature? from what i understand, infections tend to happen a few days after the fact, not right away.
i just ask because i had quite a few shots where exactly as you described happened, and it was never an infection. it always went away.
do you know what the name of the antibiotic was? just curious...
anyway, good to hear you're better... shit like that sucks when it messes up your workouts, let alone could be potentially life threatening...

Same, I've had shots that crippled me for days.. hurt like hell, next time same spot, no problem.. maybe hit a nerve.
An infection takes days to develop. Heat from area, lethargy, ill feeling, etc.

sounds like a solvent reaction, or perhaps an EO reaction.... Maybe it was an infection... but sounds like what i said...
An infection deep in the muscle like that is pretty hardcore, and you would be F-U-C-K-E-D-U-P

ya it seemed to start 24 hours later so infection or not these antibiotcs are workin the bags are called cefazolin in a iv soulution on the sat i had a fever over night and the site was swollen huge hot and red when i wok up sun so i got it checked out. Never had that much pain b-4 or swelling from a shot but im gonna refilter and try again im sure it wasnt the gear. It was oil based gear and didnt think of takin a pic of the site it was the upper part of my quad at the top to left side that got inflamed like the whole side and top of it was red and i was deff a infection my temp was 103 on sun morn. cellulitis was the name for my condition so im thinking that means it was a infection in the sub-q but was told thats the name they give to all infections like mine weird, regardless its working so im happy lol now if the would take this iv plug outta my arm id be real happy could at least work upper body then. 3 more days...

sterilize vials by:
1. Filter oil into new sterile vials
2. vent with needle, and heat in oven at 250 deg F for 20 minutes, let cool enough to handle, and remove vents so stopper is not perma vented
3. let cool, then oil should be sterile.
