I got my hands on a copy of the Anabolic Diet. I was curious what you all thought about this diet. Does it work? or is it hokey?

Is the book by Dr. Mauro Dipasquale?

Yes, it's DiPasquale's book. He also put out the Metabolic Diet and I think the newer/newest might be a supplementary one called the Radical Diet.

I've done the Metabolic Diet (essentially the same as the Anabolic) for leaning out. It does work well if you can be consistent. First couple/few weeks can be tough changing over from carbs to fat but it has numerous similarities to a competitors diet getting ready for a show...

Yeah this has me curious as well.

For a diet to lean out sure. But what about a lean bulk. Naturally...

Would this work to gain good lbs. Or would something like P/C/F 45/35/20 be better.

I'm not so young anymore so the eat everything diet won't cut it for me.

What's the basic premise of the diet?

From my understanding it is a KETO diet, similar to Palumbo's but with a different take on carb loading.

If it is a keto diet....I think any keto diet works well for losing weight while sparing muscle. But I know there are a few theories out there on the different carb loading techniques to also aid in gaining some lean muscle.

I tried the anabolic diet and the idea sounded great. Lots of meat, cheese, eggs, butter and bacon. But believe me, I got so sick of all the fatty foods, I couldn't even look at eggs without wanting to puke. I never EVER thought I'd get sick od bacon...but I did.

I've had way better results following a low fat, low carb high protein diet. but everybody is different. You have to do what's best for you, and the only way to know is to try it.

I tried this diet a long time ago. For me any diet that has no carbs before or after training is a sure formula to failure. I get so weak and flat everyone starts asking me if I`m sick. It may work well for you however. I sure gorged like a mad man on the weekends on that diet...

I like the simplicity of the palumbo diet although I admit it gets dull fast. (week 2 and counting)

does anyone know what the diet plan looks like exactly?'

is there a way to download it?

The diet is too high in fat to get competition lean. It is decent for losing some fat etc but wont get you down to single digit bf. It is also too high in saturated fats and too low in essential fats. If you are looking for a good keto diet then Dave Paumbo's works much better.

A buddy of mine got it off a torrent site, but I don't know how to use that shit.

It's alot of pages so if you're planning on printing it off, take it to Staples.

I followed it in the summer when I was trying to get lean. I loved... loved.. Grilling up a few burgers, and just loading a whole bunch of cheese on there and dipping it in mustard.

I mostly ate a lot of beef jerky, turkey, cheese and burgers. It worked pretty well for me for getting leaner... not really for bulking though.

Although, I never read the book... just went with the info I got from some other guys.
