Easy guys I wasn't starting a thread to discuss the many reasons to start popping pills but rather to ask if anyone else's city was experiencing the rash of pain killer drug abuse for conversation sake ...

I don't abuse recreational drugs and hope that the patrons of this forum do not either.

pain killers are not recreational drugs - they are prescription medication. Big difference for the folks getting uppity about recreational drug use talk.

Do people abuse them? Yes. Just as people abuse every other substance out there. I likely abuse advil on a regular basis. The joys of this sport we love.

lots of ppl poppin pills these days....ppl you wouldnt suspect....its everywhere.....not sure why they call it hillbilly heroin as its pretty pricey from what i understand....not that i do it....i dont use drugs...just steroids and pot... :)

I live in a fair sized city... not only is it prominent here, but also at my place of employement.... where there's around 5000 people makin 70,000 +/yr.... Have some friends who use on occasion, but also seen a few good people i know get hooked on them very quickly....

im very touchy on this subject as I have once been addicted to these so called prescription drugs, they are highly addictive and they are probably the worst thing to ever have to come off!!! if you have had surgery and you are in a serious condition then take what is prescribed to you, but I warn you, these drugs are not something to mess around with, just because the doctor gives them out does not make it ok.. Steroids do not even compare to the dangers of something like synthetic heroine, and the usage is only increasing by the day..

when i was working for a certain car sharing company in toronto i was cleaning a car and found a bottle full of Oxycontin... must have been like 50 or so pills in it (was a big prescription bottle)..

i turned it into the lost n found... wasn't the most efficient lost n found. they sat there for a while, then sometime a few months later i checked out the bin and the bottle was just about empty, with a few random pills stuck in there instead.

never did find out who took all those pills.

some people i know use these pills recreationally because one of them is prescribed them on a regular basis. oxy's, percs, and even morphine pills. they take em and play vids. i never partook in the experience...

I tried some oxy that my mom didn't use. Damm stuff made me itchy and that was about it... What's the big deal? Used to see a lot of oxy deaths on the east cost local CTV news feed.

Yes, but Rush did admit having a problem with prescription painkillers.

Oxy/Vicodin abuse is a large problem all over Canada and the US...this stuff has killed a lot of people, I know of many deaths even in my small city.

I've been prescribed oxys when I broke my ankle 2 months ago and to be honest I didn't feel shit when I took em.

Keep in my mind that I was taking 4-5 times the dose he prescribed me.

When I went back he prescribed me dilaudid (8x stronger than morphine) and again took way more than he prescribed and I got a little buzz for about 45 minutes.

Oh man here in Toronto everyone and there mother wants Oxycontin. I have a legit script that I barely use. Just once in a while and I would get ****ing raped when I tell the chicks at the gym I have them. People go NUTS!! for that shit. One guy went through and elaborate lie to get 5 off of me. I gave in because I felt bad for the dude and he was just a junky. It started when he fell at a construction site and they gave him percs for a compund fracture. 5 years later he would sell his mother for some pills since the docs cut him off.

Bad shit stay away.
But you underestimate how many people take them. It's not exactly a tell tale like amphetamine where their eyes are bugged out. Opiate addiction can be subtle. You would now believe how many MILF'S I ****ed (Thornhill Jews with $$$) because I have the 80's. 80's are better than money.

Stay away. Usually starts with t3's, hydrocodone and then Oxy and next thing you know-> you are spending big money on this shit. I am offered as much as a 50 for one bloody 80mg pill. I just STFU about now and don't tell anyone unless I want to **** them

Valium was always big. Always will be big. You should see how crazy the Xanax scene is in the States. They go ape shit for the "bars". Guys selling a 2mg bar for 5 bucks it's insane.

When I was in Florida it was pill central. I never seen so many pills in my life. No one comes close to Florida for pill crazy state. Interesting enough the only thing I couldn't find when I was there was the juice. Guns , drugs, ho's - everything. Juice? Hard to come by,
