Yah you've probly heard this before but **** some of those guys that work at gnc are stupid mother ****ers!!!! I went in today was checking out the products and asked one of the kids what he thought of lebradas supercharged preworkout supp and then he goes on a ****ing rant about how it has IGF-1 IGF-2 in it and it'll realy make me "grow" . Wtf are kids like this working in a supplement store for ****s sake. I bet he wouldn't have even known what the long form of igf meant . AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH yah so thats my rant.

They are also very shrewd. GNC has been trying to but out our local health food store for years now. This health food store is amazeing, and they get tons of buisness. We know the owner and she said GNC basically wants to buy her out and shut the store down.

I guess they want us to buy their awsome products instead.. :rolleyes:

I work at a GNC, but i'm not stupid. I don't try to sell people on supplements they don't need. I simply help people find what they are looking for. At our store we price match anything including online, but i dont think others do that. I understand the rant about many employees that lack product knowledge, and i agree, but i think that goes for many nutrition stores.. Its not easy dealing with some of the customers in the store either.. Many guys come in there with there chests puffed up asking where the testosterone is, and you have to explain that theres a difference between Tribulus and test, lol.. And dont get me started on the guys that think creatine monohydrate is a steroid. Some say "i could just take steroids and be huge" but then say "I'd rather do it naturally and workout," as if bodybuilders dont, LOL.. I honestly had one older guy get MAD because we didnt carry HCG.. yeah!!! I got lots of funny stories. Some of the customers are the uneducated ones and are too quick to get online and start flaming GNC.. That is NOT the case here and i understand that, but i felt i needed to inform everyone that not all gnc's are as brutal as what you may have experienced. I've been very fortunate to have met some top national competitors and have had some great experiences helping several customers who compete in bodybuilding with diet and supplement advise and they have done very well.. I just hope this shows a different point of view on the topic.. thanks guys, Peace.

The GNC near me always price matches. It took a while arguing for them to do it, but lets face it, most other supp store are cheaper than the GNC's gold card price WTF!

I'm not debating that there are lot of staff without a clue.. But like i said before that goes for many other nutition stores as well.. And not all GNC's are able to price match.. Only store that are in area's with high competition.

Hush you, I'm on a few Muscletech products myself now for the past few months and they do work for me, so don't knock the company down just because you don't wanna use their products. Now, I do agree with you that they shouldn't say it works for them if they weigh "an entire 145 lbs, wet."

Jeff, don't let the GNC bashing bother you, thank you for being knowlegdeable about the products you sell and not push "miracle products" to every customer that walks in. I buy my supps at the Belleville, Ont and Kingston GNC stores and have run into "supplement suppliers/ssalesman" a few times, preaching what worked for them and whatnot but I just ignore them and buy what works for me. BTW, I've met an amateur BB'er at the Belleville store recently and had a great chat with him. Also I don't mind paying a little more for fresh supps. I can't tell you how many small shops I've visited that sell expired supps, vitamins, etc... but you can save $10-20 off. NO THANKS!

GNC doesn't suck, you just have to be knowledgeable of the products. Go in and buy the stuff you need. I use a daily multi-vitamin from GNC and it's a great product. I don't ask for "advice" from the sales team.

I'm with my girl shopping and we're a bit hungry, so we head to the dreaded GNC in this rarely-visited shopping center and ask for the best-tasting protein bars in their display.

Of course the feebleminded guy behind the counter is edgy with delusions of great knowledge and is looking for any opportunity to put in any word of advice. My girl is looking at the nutrition information on the bar she is holding, and says to me "hm, this one has 9g of fat, that's a bit high". So feeblemind there opens his trap and spouts out "yes but it is unsaturated fat. Your body only stores saturated fats, not the unsaturated."

So I slowly repeated as a question what he had just told me, trying to look as eager to "learn" as I could: "So we can only get fat from saturated fat? I didn't know that." And he goes "Exactly. Don't worry, not many people do."

I just paid and left.

Seriously, you know your stuff, don't build the ego up now by comparing your knowledge with the underpaid salesman. FYI, btw I did learn a few things from this great GNC employee at my local store. He competed 2 times in amateur BB competition and let me tell you, the guy is built like a brick. So not every GNC person is a hapless buffoon. :moon
