A man accused of beheading and cannibalizing a passenger
on a Greyhound bus apologized to police when he was arrested
and begged officers to kill him. Tuesday, Vince Li was in court
and entered a not guilty plea.

It's called a democracy. If you get caught with steroids you will get the right to defend yourself also. You don't pick and choose in a democracy.
It's all fun to say : Kill this guy and get it over with but there are a lot of soccer moms out there that would have juicers lumped in with heroin users and say "kill em all". Luckily they don't run the justice system.
As heinous as the act is he's still protected under the rights and freedoms we all have.

If you giver him a jail sentence then he will have a legal right to seek parole since their is no real life sentence in Canada . One day he will be released unless he is classified a DO (which won't happen in the jail system).
If he gets classified a loony tune then he will be released when he is no longer a danger. And that will be to a secure old age facility. The doctors are tougher than the parole officers. Trust me on that,
In tis case it's better to have deemed mentally insane.

what this psychotic freak did has irrevocably changed and affected the lives of many people forever. he needs to be punished severely instead of sitting drugged up and sedated in a mental hospital for the next 20 yrs bleeding the system while his doctors try to figure out ,"what went wrong with this poor fella?"

Not me but in a democracy you don't pick and chose who and what you defend. There are a LOT of people, especially with the current media crucification of steroids who would say: Steroid users? **** them . Kill them all.

"God made me do it, i was told (victims name, cant remember) was going to execute me, so i had to execute him first. Then i had to spread his limbs across the bus so he couldnt come back to life and kill me"

i heard an interview today with a guy who was on the bus with his gf and witnessed this murder. he said his gf is depressed doesn't want to go back to school , his grades have dropped and he is seeking counselling.
this lunatic has affected lives permanently, not just the victim;s family but also those who saw this first-hand.

But I doubt that will be the case. The could put him on medication, say the schizophrenia is under control and release him. Then some event triggers him to stop taking the drugs and he does more harm. That's why he should be locked up for the rest of his life.

Texans are allowed to carry (with permit) handguns, and they are permitted to defend themselves.
In Canada we are not even allowed to arm ourselves, and defending yourself may lead you to legal problems of your own.

News is that he has been found Not Criminally Responsible. Apparently Greyhound is paying each of the persons on the bus who witnessed the slaying approx $450 each compensation. What a joke. I agree he should fry, but as they don't do that here, locking him up foreever, while its a waste of money, is the next best alternative.

I didn't say ccw prevented violent crime, did I? My point was that if someone on that bus was armed, and we didn't live in a country where criminals have as many or more rights than victims, then we wouldn't be worrying about this POS possibly getting free one day. he would already be where he belongs.

I have family in Texas, I have travelled there many times. Texans, like most of the American people, are mostly good, honest, hard working people.

I think that democracy is great but it can be taken too far which is exactly what we have done here in Canada.........everybody should go back and edit there posts if they wrote "justice system" in it and replace it with "legal system" as no JUSTICE can be found in Canada
Victims have no rights......I have first hand sat in a courtroom and watched a man be sentenced to 2 years house arrest for molersting two nine year old girls that were having a sleep over with his own daughter...then when the crown asked the judge to put an order on the man not to attend his daughters school as the two girls he molested go there as well....the judge said no his daughter should not have to suffer(this was two years ago in an ontario courthouse).... so I ask you mr RANDYSAVAGE...light years ahead really???

Having a family member who is mentally unstable, she can't control the stuff she does. BUT, killing another human being whether your mentally unstable or not, should NEVER be let free.
