So my girlfriend bought her daughter a new computer.
I set it up that she is the admin...... her daughter is the other user.
Now......... when I turn her computer on there is the daughters name....enter password ect......... but for some reason....... there is no option to change user accounts.... so I can't log on as the administrator.
when i turn it on it just comes on vista user name and password... like i said no option to change accounts.
whats going on?

Try this

Enable the Administrator Account
Open the command prompt with Administrative privileges by opening the Start Menu, and typing cmd in the search box, and then press Ctrl+Shift+Enter or click the Start orb, All Programs, Accessories, right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
Type the following in the command prompt and press Enter after:
net user administrator /active:yes

Restart your computer and logon as Administrator.
Note: You might want to set a password for the administrator’s account for at least a little protection.

Even when I restart the computer......... there is no option to login as admin.... only her daughters password ect.
is there a way that she could have disabled the admin and taken over the computer?

That's all I know. This should be a job for someone with more knowledge than I.

Megs,

you need to get the daughter to log in and then enable the admin password, or you can pull the plug when it is running, and start it insafe mode, then enable said admin account. Once that is done, set up gf as admin, and take the daughters admin privileges away, and make sure the password is something that the daughter can't figure out.

net user administrator /active:yes

Is what is required to show the admin account. You need to do this from a command prompt.
