I found this article and thought it was quite interesting.

Keep in mind that this study was done with rats and the dose of 100iu in this study would be far greater in us.

Inhibition of Spermatogenesis and Steroidogenesis During Long-Term Treatment with hCG in the Rat

The effects of chronic treatment with hCG (100 I.U.s.c. every second day) on testicular morphology, LH receptor levels and concentration of steroid intermediates of the Dgr4 and Dgr5 biosynthetic pathways were studied in adult rats for periods extending from one to 12 weeks. Treatment with hCG causes a decrease in testis weight, a maximal inhibitory effect being observed after two and four weeks of treatment. At these time intervals, the loss of testis weight is accompanied by degenerative changes in most seminiferous tubules and hypertrophy of Leydig cells. Administration of hCG for one week leads also to an almost complete loss of LH binding sites and to a marked stimulation of the levels of testicular steroids of the Dgr4 and Dgr5 pathways, as well as to an increase in weights of secondary reproductive organs. The initial increment of testicular steroid levels is followed after two weeks of hCG administration by an apparent decrease of 17,20-desmolase activity suggested by a reduction in the levels of androst-5-ene-3beta,17beta-diol, androstenedione, testosterone, and 5agr-dihydrotestosterone and an increase in the concentrations of pregnenolone, 17-OH-pregnenolone, progesterone and 17-OH-progesterone. Plasma and pituitary LH levels are maximally reduced at one and four weeks of treatment, respectively, while plasma and pituitary FSH levels are only slightly reduced after four weeks of hCG administration. The effects of hCG on all of the above-mentioned parameters, except for testicular morphology and testis weight, are completely reversible at the eight and 12 week intervals. This transiency in the effects of hCG is accompanied by a gradual increase in plasma levels of hCG antibodies. The present data show that chronic treatment of adult rats with hCG induces a marked degeneration of the seminiferous tubules and an inhibition of spermatogenesis that accompanies the well-known loss of testicular LH receptors and inhibition of the steroidogenic pathway.

What I get from this is that initially test and other steroid hormones raise with this dosage of hcg until the two week period after which these horomones begin to fall. At this time progesterone like horomones begin to rise.

So in essence HCG inhibits spermatogenesis by degeneration of the seminiferous tubules(where sperm cells develope) with chronic use?

I've been doing some research on the HCG and spermatogenesis so when I come across info I'll post in so some of our gurus can express their point of views on these studies.

if HCG inhibits spermatogenesis by degeneration of the seminiferous tubules(where sperm cells develope) with chronic use that could mean it could kill your sperm for good?? if that is the case that doesnt sound very good

Sounds like it if you're a rat taking 100 IU's every second day

Okay so lets do the math - if a male human uses 20,000iu of HCG E2D expect to see tersticular downregulation ...

Youd think there would be some research on men using 250iu E3D for extended periods because this is the demographic it applies to the most.

Studies on rats... real helpful. No offense intended, but it hardly seems applicable to us... especially when the doses they're administering are enormous for the little rodents.

All I can say is my nuts have never been bigger, and I've been using hCG twice weekly at 500iu (total) for about a month now.

I'm honestly not all that concerned with sperm count anyway... don't plan on having kids. As long as my nuts keep producing a good amount of testosterone, I'm happy.

There are plenty of studies out there on using HCG for hypogonadism in human males. Please show me one that shows any desensitization of the testes or negative effects of HCG usage...im very curious to see them.

i do plan on using hcg soon and i plan on having kids in the future so it does worry me a bit.. wish there was more material on it.. either way im sure the dosage had a bit to do with it

Exactly - according to Crisler the magic number is approximatley 500iu weekly ... dont exceed this (during prolonged use-not a blast) and youll be just fine.

and if you're really worried, consider having your boys frozen?
