Anybody on here working in the trade industry? More specifically working in HVAC or construction engineering tech. I'd like some first hand experiences from people in the field concerning work hrs/ wages/ job stability etc...
any particular schools you would recommend for training?
thx

Nope very wrong fine sir...There is more trades than housing...see above what i wrote...I just did 3 interviews this week for trades forementioned...Not all the economy is a bust yet...Industrial trades are at an all time low as far as good candidates seeking employment...
Millwright, welders and INDUSTRIAL electricians, not home sparkies are good to go..
I am always looking for good talent, in fact i interviewed a board member from here and nexus today...

Mechanic is the way to go if you can. Even when people are not buying new cars/trucks they still need there old ones fixed. My work cant find enough qualified red sealed mechanics. Were running at about 60% staff right now. Heavy-duty Mechanic is the best $40 + an hour. Places like Trans-link and the city of Vancouver are always looking for people. The supply is not meeting the demand. As for schools BCIT or Kwantlen. I dont know where you live but in BC there's lots of jobs for Mechanics.

i'm living in southern ontario, but this is exactly what i'm looking for. thanks guys....
i appreciate input from people working in trades/industries where there are a lack of qualified people. After spending the last 12-14 yrs at a boring job behind a computer, i'm looking looking to go back to school to find a completely new career.
