Well this is something I've wanted to do for a while, but wanted to make sure I had some time to experience some of the AF supplements before sharing my oppinions and experience with them.
I used some of the AF products when I was preping for my last competition (Nov 15th) and continued to use some of the products and expanded my use for my off-season this year. So here is what I was using and my experience thus far.
Neurogenex - This is my number one AF supplement that I would recomend to anyone dieting for any reason. As you diet and push your body essetialy into starvation mode, you mental focus rapidly deteriorates. I've dieted many times before, and most recently with neurogenex, I have to say it was a night an day difference. The biggest change that I noticed was my ability to get up when the alarm went off in the morning and get going without that typical morning fog. That effect has continued into the off season, even though quite often I'm not getting to bed until 11, and then up at 5:30.
Glucorell-R. In addition to the blood sugar effects, the over all health benifits of r-ALA are far to great not to include this in any nutrition plan. I typicaly use 2 tabs 4-7 x per day, ususaly 2 with each meal. Again for those competing, when you consider what your doing to your body, the amount of fee radicals that your producing as you attempt to selectivly destroy your bodies energy stores (fat), adding Glucorell-R is simply a no brainer. In my off season I have added Sesapure to the the glucorell-R and the results have been outstanding.
Sesapure - This is a supplement that I started taking in the off season, 2 caps, 2x daily - breakfast and dinner. This is the first time I have ever had abs in the off season. And while sitting at a bw of 245 and lifting my strongest in the gym, I have to say I am thoughly impressed with the Sesapure/Glucorell-R combo.
Cardio Breeze - I've only been using this for my offseason thus far, but whish I had it for contest prep. I've been using 2 caps just before am cardio. Ever since I started doing am cardio, I've been using cardio breeze, so it was tough to tell if it was having any kind of effect or not. So I decided to try a couple of sessions without it. Usually when I'm doing cardio, I'll try not to look at the time as it seems to make the time go faster. I try to last until I think that it's almost done, then I'll look and when there is only a couple of minutes to go, its not too bad. When I didn't take the CB, and then did my cardio, I got to the point where I felt I was almost done, so I decided to check -and I wasn't even 1/2 way there. Same thing the next day. It's hard to describe what the effect is, if its physiological or psycological, but either way, when taking CB - cardio time seems to go by much quicker and I find it easier to do.
Red Blast - This is another one that I've only been using since November in my off season. Once I added it I seemed to have an extra rep in many exercises. I would often get to the point where I would push out a rep and felt like if I tried for one more, I would most likely fail, but would go for it, and more often then not, would be able to grind it out. I must say howerver that is has caused a bit of a problem for me though. I've had to stop taking it on the days I train focused on my shoulders as the pumps that I have been getting become rather painful to the the end of the workout. It feels as though I've been punched hard in both front delts, and the only way to relieve the pain is to rest my hands at a level above my shoulders to take the weight off - this usually last for about 10 min - so I've stopped taking red blast on shoulder day but use it for all other training sessions.
Beta Alanine and Creatine Ethyl Ester. It's hard for me to say the benifit of these as I've been using BA and CEE for a long time. I can say that I don't get any bloating form CEE like some get with CM and the tingling with BA is certainly noticable, so much so that I can tell if I accidently put 6g in my shakes vs 4g. I would suggest that if CM worked for you, CEE would have a similar effect and being it tablets, its a more convenient form. As for the BA, you have to decide if you buy into the research about it - so far I don't see any reason not to use it.
Yohimburn - this is a product that I purchased to help tighten up my lower back and hamstrings during the last phase of my prep - as for results - take a look at the pictures below.
