Anyone ever get chest pain from squats?

I got in 1 working set of squats tonight after warming up, and while everything felt fine during the set, I got hit with some chest pain after I sat down to rest. I thought if I just waited it out, it would go away (maybe just some gas,) but it stayed, and is still here more than 2 hours later. Needless to say, I didn't get to finish my work out.

The location is (paranoia aside) right where my heart is. I've had to breathe fairly shallow ever since it happened as if I take deeper breaths, the pain gets worse (even gives a sudden stabbing sensation if I breath too deeply.) I actually had to hold my breath in order to tie my boots because breathing in that kneeling position made the pain too intense.

I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what might have happened? I don't really see how I could have pulled a muscle in my chest doing squats, but then again I don't have much knowledge on the subject. Is it possible that I may have had too much air in my lungs and stressed one of them from the pressure? Or could I actually have hurt my heart? I was able to walk home, but it took an extra 10 minutes because I had to walk slower.

You have a dislocated rib... go get it looked at.

If that's the case, is it an urgent thing, or is it okay to sleep on it and have it checked tomorrow?

sleep on it, get xrays tomorrow
if you go to the ER now you'll be marked ultra-****ing-low priority so bring a sleeping bag

Tomorrow is fine. See a chiropractor.

Thats what i also think. I get this all the time except the pain is where the rib attaches to the spine.

It is possible you have a trigger point in your pec major or minor which will exhibit chest pain similar to what you have indicated. It can be treated by a RMT or you could move your hands across your chest with some pressure and you may find a point (about the area of your finger tip) which will give you sharp pain. Once you find this you apply pressure to it (as much as you can comfortably bear) and hold it until the pain subsides, then repeat with more pressure until it is gone.
