Are you open about your steroid use?

Do the people close to you (family, friends, wife, girlfriend, etc) know of your AAS use?

I am pretty open. My parents knew from my first cycle 8 years ago and they're ok with it now. Wife knows and most of my friends know. No one has been negative towards me.

I'll never talk about it with anyone close to me. In the past I was pretty open that I supported them even though I was natural but for the last year or so I've just been saying "you can get as big as you want with creatine and modern weights". Why try and convert the ignorant? It's just not worth it.

The last thing I want is an angry ex-girlfriend or a jealous friend who I'm much bigger than to tell everyone in the ****ing town.

I guess it depends on your defenition of close, my wife and two very close friends know. When i played ball, only 2 of the 5o + man roster knew. Obviously i don't like lying to people, but its a fine line between honesty and safety, especially as like was said above, its impossible to convert the ignorant.

lol - I find it funny that people that use steroids don't tell their friends, family and spouses. Bottom line is that 90% of those people aren't stupid and if you are training right, eating right and being smart about your gear - there is no way that these people shouldn't be able to tell!!! Honestly I don't discuss it with my parents as I am an adult and can do as I wish. As for my friends and gf - I am an open book. How else can a 6'2" guy maintain 250-280lbs while staying vascular year round?

Family and friends ...yes im open....With my career, i cannot be as i am in a position of authority and IF ever i had to have a hard nose conversation or be assertive in my role ...No matter if i was right or wrong it would be viewed as a roider having issues...I learned my lesson long ago in this regard...
you can be as right as rain, buit if you raise your voice , or become assertive (note: not aggressive) it will be viewed as roid rage and you lose all credibility with the ignorance the media has instilled in Joe public..

In addition to the humour of having people think I am natty, I just plain old think it is none of their business. It is a personal thing I do for myself, and take special precautions not to get caught by family.
If I did get caught red-handed? Don't really care, but will try my best not to. If I am away, my HGH gets stashed in a container in the fridge where no one will ever look.
My gear and needles, etc. is in a locked box.

my family i dont tell.. they have been saying that i am on for awhile though (even times when im not).. my mom just say stuff like i know you are on right now and i want you to cut it back a bit you are getting too big.. i just respond with im not on relax and thats pretty much where it ends.. she just wants me to be safe.. and my brother has asked a few of my friends apparently and they said no as far as i know..

Just my wife know's. Unlike some of you on here i'm not so big that i draw attention to myself, i've never been asked. Even when i cycle i use compounds that give me slow and steady gains, nothing too dramatic.

I've already replied to this thread but I think it's a personal issue. NONE of my friends work out, they all sit on their ass, drink 3-6 days a week, and live off nachos and wings.

My family is just so ignorant it's ridiculous, I remember my step-mom throwing out my creatine when I was 16 because "steroids were illegal". I keep telling my dad to go on HRT though, so if he ever takes my advice I'll probably talk to him about it haha.

The only person I would have ever talked openly about AAS with is my mom but I'd rather not worry her.

that pisses me off is when someone you know will ask you all about you usage but

they keep denying their own use. One guy was getting some nice consistent

lean gains and kept on denying it but it was obvious he was on. The guy who

sold it to him gave me the 411 on him. I called him a bitch and a ****ing

asshole but he didn't want any and apologized with the dumbass excuse

I`m surprised so many here talk openly about this. My parents are so against this, there is no way I will tell them. I`m sure if anything bad would happen to me, they would blame the steroids. I understand them for thinking this way because a guy who worked with my dad who was my idol when I was first training in a real gym (R.I.P Jocelyn Savard) was a big mofo. My dad always suspected him of being of steroids. Joss would tell me he would sometimes take just 10 or 20 mg of d ball and it really helped him. I have no idea if the used other stuff, but I understand if he lied to me. I was 16 and he never, ever said I should use them... Anyway this guy ate BIG TIME and trained heavy, it was so cool training in the same room as him. My dad used to tell me he couldn`t work 30 minutes without having to eat, take a shit, or rest. A true bodybuilder!

Another guy who trained in that same gym commited suicide (R.I.P. Steve) and many beleive it was due to his steroid use. With him it was obvious when he was on, got ****ing big and always in a good mood. When he came off he was the complete opposite.

So this is why I can`t worry my parents with this when I get started which should be around april 1st. They`ve seen the worst and would just worry to much. It`s for the better.

the only people that know im on are people that steadily work out and see me on the regular. anyone who steadily works out knows you dont naturally grow that fast, no matter what the conditions are.

Some things are better left in the dark. You have nothing to gain but a lot to lose and you will be creating a lot of headaches if you tell your gf/family. A few of my close friends know about it, but it's okay since they have taken before or currently.

Pretty much all of my close friend know. I won't lie about it but it is not something I want to start a conversation about especially with women, I find it tends to freak them out.

The problem with being open is that everyone assumes that steroids are the cause of all your problems. If am am a little bit depressed- its the steroids, angry- roid rage, etc. And don't get me started on the implications of the whole Chris Benoit ordeal.....

Your right, My gf found my stash and she snapped..Now its nothing but trust issues with her and that = a shitty relationship. Best to let them know once you trust them.
