Took this pic tonight at 8 weeks out.. Did a skin calipar test and hand held test for bodyfat percent.. After 3 tries on skinfold done by someone else(unbiased) i came in at 7.24 percent body fat on average.. How am i shaping up for the upcoming comp be completely and painfully honest if neccesary. Criticism is encouraged as i know its the only way i can improve my physique...just for info im a 19yr old natty Jr...thankx in advance if anyone replies

coming along good. I would say try and get more cuts in your legs not the greatest pic to look at but they look ok more cuts need for sure still 8 weeks to go..

Varking i totally agree im trying so dam hard on them legs crushing them with the staple exercises, squats, front squats, lunges (standing walking barbell dumbell) and hacks of all sorts..man i try ext. and one leg leg presses on liek 3 diff machines. Its so tough all i want is the leg cuts and vasculity thats my weak point i feel. Maybe a lil more dieting and those babies will come out..

Hey bro. Looking pretty good for a 19 yr old natty. The vascularity is good. With 8 weeks to go I would suggest hitting the tanning booth to get a bit more color, it will help bring out your cuts more.

What weight class will you be competing in?

Tav...please post a pic of you at 16 when we first met. OMG this young man has grown so much as a person and as an athlete. LOL..we gotta work in his driving skills more.

It's a bit odd working with a young man on his posing. Were working good together and I promise you guys he won't be doing open handed posing like we women do or any ballet in his routine.

We talked about evenness in his posing. Both hands at the same spot on the body etc. using a mirror helps....it's the spacial perception that he will build on in a few weeks that will help keep both sides balanced.

Tav the tan has got to be worked on.....the gym boyz are gonna sneak you into the machines. Time it so they are working the desk. Tanning place in town will be needed the last few weeks..the intensity is better.

His upper body vascularity is unreal. If he were only 20 yrs older.

His quads may be like mine were as a natty...not in till the last min.

He has done alot of the work on his own everyone. I'm only his guide. I'm proud of him.

Quads usually come in last. Especially for a first show. Biggest muscles in the body carry the most fat around them. You're doing Stratfords or a tested show?

You're big for a junior, I wouldn't have thought you weigh 180lbs from the pictures. It's always interesting to see how different people hold weight/muscle. Oh and try to not overkill the workouts. The only thing that will bring out cuts is lower bodyfat% and maybe some posing practice. Leave the legs alone for the last week (but I'm sure FC knows that).

Here is a pic of me from 2007. Believe it or not i was 245lbs and was 17 yrs old. Bodyfat was around 23percent i believe. OUCH! but the trasformation has brought me so much confidence and determination such taht now i feel i can achieve anything!

So you're FC's trainee. Your legs will dial in. If you are anything like me, they are a bitch to get cut, and you have to blast them and diet like crazy. The upside is they grow real easy though. I had to do lots of cardio, reign in the diet, and learn that 100's are my friend.

Diet- eat every 2.5 hours on the dot. ALways low glycemic carbs ( brown rice, broccoli, celery, peppers, spinach, oats) and 50g of pro (6oz chicken, or tuna, or turkey, or extra lean ground beef, or steak, or whitefish, ON 100% whey)

Training- train myself and do differnt splits and bodyparts each week to keep the muscles geussing. I like this:
-chest/triceps
-back/biceps,
-hams sarratus calves,
-quads and hams
-delts/traps

-Nothing special here just use the basic staples with a weight i can handle ( no matter what anyone in the gym says/thinks). Although im 19 i do NOT EGO TRAIN> i train like im the only one in the gym and i dont care what anyone does.

It's my x who has worked on Tavs proper training. I watched them tonight...working on db bent over rows and pull ups.

You did great Tav. Let me say I used alot of resources that I could find back when I hit the stage... Most of it my buddies on here.

Great transformation. I"m so happy that his mom and dad are on board with us now. I have seen local young men who competed in their own home towns and the parents were not there to see or cared. I would be the only one taking any pics of them that they had of themselves n stage. Your going to feel the love on stage dear.

Tav and I joked tonight about his striated glutes. :D ONLY I get pics of those.

Just an update to everyone interested. Checked the body fat again for the first time in two weeks. Did the same test at the same time as 2 weeks ago and did the average of 3 trials. 6.13 percent body fat and in increase in lean mass of 6 lbs!!!! LBM went up to 173.5 and total fat down 1.25lbs. (just to remind everyone 5 11' 185 currently) Definitly on the right track. Switched up my cardio to: 20 minutes recumbant bike HIIT (3 min 65RPMS, 1 min Max), the arc trainer if thats what they call it( Procore EFX) at 15 mins (1:30 relexed, 30 sec max) to It is working really really well and is less time consuming. This new HIIT is supposed to be the best and it showed in the first week of slowing down the cardio from 50min (30Bike, 20starimaster)..

up to 184lbs abd O Hurley is right the mirror is telling me differnt than the scale, BF. I have been eating more consistent and doing everything the same but the fat loss is slowed down and im getting softer for some reason it looks like. More full but mayb less cut in the abs. I dont know.

So now 3 weeks out so i posted more pics up...Feels like ive hit a plateau in the cutting up around 190lbs. Any suggestions or comments on what to do for the next 3 weeks. I feel right on track so far but as for fat loss havent noticed much since about 6 weeks out.

-This is my first show and i feel like im missin something. Is there anything i should add or do at 2-3 weeks out???

I love the dehydration..no big pain but the carb depleting is hell.

He has never been big into salts so were not bothering.

I want to get him into some meditating. He is strung out and edgy. Music? Focus on doing his routine in his head..what other ides do you guys suggest for him.

Also your girl is a sweet heart. But she has her own stresses now. Call her, talk to her, do your couple cardio thing together but then GET YOUR ASS HOME TO EAT WHEN YOU NEED TO. Putting off your meals is causing some of this flak between you and her.

Remember my saying...I'd kill anyone who get between me and my food in the kitchen the last few weeks. Food is your drug. Go home eat..then find a bit of time for her in the afternoons.

Everyone here will say.........precontest you sleep, eat, posing and train. That is the life you choose. YOU are a bodybuilder.

play video games. It helps me a ton when dieting. drink tea, lots and lots and lots of tea. it helps too.

I'd say find someone to bang but sex is the last thing on my mind in the final weeks of prep. Chosing between sex and sleep or just conserving energy and I'll take the later over the former any day of the week haha

I would snack at this hour of the night off season while on the computer. I set a curfew of midnight when i'm dieting. MY PC turned into a pumpkin.

Change your routine...go sit outside in the sun..work on that base tan the free way if it warms up and the sun comes out.

Is your income taxes done? Work on them.

Is there some work to be done outside? Wash your car, your moms and the guy next doors.

Imagine if you were writing exams right now?

Do YOUR own cooking. Prepping it brings joy in eating it.

Start weighing the protein buddy. Maybe your cheating yourself there.

depends on how you deal. There have been times I took the week off not because I needed to keep busy but because I just needed to rest and sleep as I was starting to chew through muscle. That last week can be dicey.

I also like taking the week off cause I can head to the beach and continue to work on the tan. I hate, hate, hate pro tan and will do ANYTHING to never have to use that shit again so the darker I can get tanning the better chance I'll have at not having to paint that crap on my body.

Nanenator.... the final pics that last week do NOT do my guy Tav justice. We don't take them then. Glycogen depleted and carb depleted is flat...

I let Tav8s friends into the pre session posing and routine work only, they were let in to pump him UP, seeing him that way may have led them to think he was avarage. He was at around 50 grams of carbs per day then not counting his diuretic carbs like asparagus.

They were not with us when we upped the carbs to over 250 grams a day. He grew over night. Damn he was dedicated and he filled out with the carbs and Snickers candy bars. He craved cereal but candy and jam was just as good. He followed my every command..never questioning.

Many times I stood next to him back stage in the line up reminding him of shit..The over all winner right beside him. I was trying to size him up beside Tav. I didn't see much back there till on stage. It's abut fine dialing a physique. I know what we gotta work on. WE will be back. I"m so proud. More on stage pics tomorrow I promise.

Well got back into the gym today for the first time and felt great. Id just like to say THANK YOU very much to everyone here at CBB. When i was dieting and thinking of cheating i lived on here to kill time. If it wasnt for you guys giving me advice i know i would never have made it. This site rocks and im gonna be here for a while and possibly my next show!! Again thanks to all and special thanks to people that PMed me for help and to SS for the song help.

FC- best coach ever. IF it wasnt for you i would never have done it. YOU did everything for me from dieting to the unending support. You have made me a better person overall and your the best friend i could have ever had. I can never thank you enough but all i can say is WOW we did it. NOt me...we...!

Well No unfortunatly i didnt but i sort of can tell now where i need some work. Im gonna really focus on lats and legs and get them a lot more size before next show. I thought i might need a little more abdominal development but that may be genetic. So more size in the legs and back and i should be better and do well at my next show. (when i decide to do one).

Hey Tav..about genetics..Look at Billy's chest.. It starts lower down on the chest..yours is up higher. Give your self a few years and it too will fill out more of your chest wall. Your hardness in many of the photos I have seen is better then Billies. Many times your posing too is better then his.

Tav left before the end of the show......I figured I could rattle the judges cages after the show but didn't make it to the after party. Let's hear what the judges thought? Hey Hey any judge that has an opinion can add in here ... ?
Even the guys in the audience who saw something..any suggestion is always welcomed.

Thank you very much man! Thats what i tried to do tonight to obliterate the traps at every angle possible. There a very very hard muscle to grow today i pounded out machine shrugs, dumbell shurgs, and olympic barbell shurgs in front and behind. Im gonna put a beating on them twice a week to stimulate growth. I feel my quads are also lacking so i will put the same style of beating to them and then i can take care of a couple weak points. (sorry for the long post but i take it criticism very seriously and really want to improve)

Ask SS since he is a Judge,so maybe he was at the show.I judge but you have to be there at the show.Criticism should be keep to a Private PM,not in a open thread as it leads to Flaming.That is why i don't post in Competitor Corner on Cjm.

You looked great, bro... I dont think theres really anything to improve on other than overall mass...

Adding mass will fill out all those trouble areas you have now and set you up to compete with the big boys...

Side by side back stage, Tav and the OverAll were side by side. I didn't see much difference.

Then on stage I see my boy has a high pec compared to Bs. B needed a bit of help with posing but so did Tav. Ds back was awesome and wide. He had cross striations in his quads that Tav did not.

I'm guessing the MEN in the show were shaking their heads when Big B took the Over All. I'm happy for him too and glad he will soon be a part of our board.

IMO..never guess what will be on stage against you. Assume it will be hulks and you the new kid on the block.

Give it your 150% and you'll do well.

Ta,v at 20 yrs old I'm sooo sooo proud of you and the work we did paid off.

i do not know i didnt ask. I didnt get that impression from him but truthfully i dont no jac abotu his life. But you know what they say. CHEATING is COMPETING and whether or not he was or used juice he beat me fair and square. I was wondering the same thing myself but i geuss we both will never no. But about me inspiring u that is good and no matter what u dont need juice to do a good show dont let anyone convince you of that. It is nice to win but think about your life in bodybuilding. If you get there in a year u will lose it in a year. If u make modest maintable gains u will keep it for a lifetime.
