Apparently reenacting history is still taboo in Quebec.

They lost in the southern US and they still re-enact there, the seperatists just have to get over it.

god dammit, that's what's giving all quebecers a bad reputation. So many people would go to hell and back just to get a shot at living in Canada... the solution is not secession, its cooperation

It is not really a celebration more of a commemoration of history and what actually happened.
I think the biggest problem in our country is that most anglos are only ever exposed to Quebec politicians in the media, and not cultural or social figures like musicians, comedians, etc. It is hard to see why the rest of Canada sometimes has a maligned view of Quebec when the only people they see on TV are Rene Levesque, Bouchard, Landry, Duceppe, Paul Martin, Chretien, etc.

My opinion is that the political elites in this province stir the pot to justify their milking of tax payer dollars. Look at Gilles Duceppe. The guy is a former Maoist and hospital worker who makes around $200K per year with a huge pension, and all he has to do is oppose the federal government and create antagonism because the moment people realize his racket there goes his tax payer funded paychecks.

I've been to Quebec a lot, the only place I ran into issues was in Quebec city. I was snubbed for being an anglo, it really ruined my whole Quebec experience.

So, it is officially canceled last I heard. Seems like threatening others with violence is an accepted thing in Quebec. Most other places it would land you in a jail cell or get the police on your ass for sure.

You mean threatening to set fire to people's tents is against the law?

I guess one just has to threaten the right people to get away with it.

thing about quebecers, which even that fat guy who does documentaries compliments them on, its one of the few places where the government is scared of its citizens and not the other way around.

Yeah I just got back from a skiing trip in Q city the locals treat tourists like shit most of my classmates didnt like the people they met. I'm from la belle province so it doesnt bother me anyways.

i dont see why they stopped it though its not like its montreal i doubt anything would have happened.

Apparently they are pissed off about building a new "English" hospital, even though all the separatist politicians use the English ones.
