Anyone try Dr Scott Conelly`s new progenex recovery drink? Apparantly you can train legs, drink the potion, then train legs again the next day with no loss of strength. The only place I`ve heard good reviews on this is MD which is in my view a very biased forum.

I find it extremely hard to believe that a "special" type of whey powder will double recovery time. But I am gullible enough to try ACV for acne so take what I believe or disbelieve with a grain of salt. If connelly can show meaningful numbers to back up his statements he will have done something very impressive. My guess is it will prove to be another case of arachidonic acid but we shall see.
That said I really quite like listening to connelly. superhumanradio has some good interviews with him. He's clearly a smart guy who has real passion about the improving the human condition. He may also like money.

I can`t listen to the guy without falling asleep, my god is he boring to listen to! John Berardi has done some interviews lately, those are interesting to hear. But yeah, I`m kinda sensing this will be added to a futur thead entitled "Worst supps ever tried" Ever since I spent hundreds of dollars on that HMB shit, I vowed to wait months if not years before trying something that has such dramatic claims.

How could his protein end up The Worst Product of the year. i mean if somebody knows is shit on protein like he does how could he put together such a bad product?? i guess if he does imagine other brands...

I guess I just say that because it`s just protein making pharmaceutical claims. Basically what`s he`s saying is that his magical protein will make you recover faster than the wildest steroid stack. As far as I know nobody with the best pharmaceutical aid can train legs heavy 2 days in a row, he says his product can. Therefore it gets knocked down to the level of smilax and dibencozide. But I can very well be wrong, and hopefully am.
But until I hear some unbiased review on this product I`ll wait. I mean if you`re 100% convinced this procduct works, why don`t you give it a try? Not doing so only shows your lack of fait in him. How manipulative is that!!!

My legs are more sore 2 days after than 1 day. Usually arn't recovered until right before I train them again (about 4 days). It's a bs claim but it's also true because one set of light leg extensions could be a leg workout right? Never tried the product, post up what you find out about it. There may be some good thought behind it but the one thing that will always be true about supplements is. If they worked, it would be illegal to buy them.

Never said that i was 100% convinced that it work, just that if you give me the choice betwenne a protein that is sold by a guy(Docter and founder of Met-Rx) who's in the known VS just a simple business man who's there just for the money i rather take my chance with the Doc.
As for the Leg story if i remember correctly its not Connely himself that came up with the leg story it was John or Dave.

FAIR ENOUGH, i WAS PLAYING WITH WORDS...

I`m pretty sure he was a guest in their radio show when Dave and John were saying this. If he thought this claim was outrageous, it would have been his chance to say so. But hey, who would want to say " No guys the product is not that good..." It`s a necessary evil of today`s marketing I guess.
note: the somment in bold in mine...

Keep in mind, the leg training claim was done by Dave Palumbo/John Romano...youre a fool to believe that they would plug Conelly's product without some kind of incentive or kick back...its all business

I have nothing against people pluggin prducts, they just took it to a rediculous level, you can`t seriously think otherwise.

money makes people say anything. its always about money
i believe ive got the full texts on one of the studies(possibly the only study) on progenex. If i recall it's prolonged set of leg extensions and it showed increased recovery but no change in any of the shit we care about lbm gains, fat loss, etc. I'll see if I still have it but the product may have application in the endurance industry not the body recomposition sector.

I believe as of right now it's a non-profit organization as well using the profits to fund the research.
A quick review of the study it was 10 warm up reps and 100 knee extensors measured on the right leg. It found after 6 hrs the progenex the peak isometric torque was back to baseline and in placebo and regular whey isolate groups it was not back to baseline still at the end of the 24hr mark. However it did not affect serum creatine kinase activity (marker of muscle damage) and plasma TNF concentrations (marker of inflammation) any more or less than placebo or regular whey isolate.
My opinion on the study is that it may allow you to repeat an earlier performance quicker but the muscle hasn't actually recovered. It might be interesting to use in a swim meet or mma fight situation but at the price tag and the limited current research I'm sure as hell not going to try and find out.
if anyone wants to full text shoot me your e-mail.

must be the older version then guys. as dr. scott no longer works for them and in fact is suing the company. Progenex themselves just had a press release that says the new formula isnt anything but whey protein.
so is u like paying $120 for 3 weeks of whey protein be my guest. otherwise just buy whatever is cheap

LOL. Yes, Physique is correct. Progenix now is not the same as the progenix first produced. Getting back to John and Dave. Don't believe a word that comes out of Dave's mouth. Remember this guy did time for stealing the life savings of elderly people.
