Nice, I'm from Durham as well. What are the gyms called? Are any of them in Pickering?

Welcome.

Welcome.

I am about to open one in Pickering... right off the 401 next to the new Home Depot in the plaza with the DQ, Sleep Country and Tasco... It's a chain called Anytime Fitness... there are over 1000 clubs accross NA and you get access to all of them, they are all 24x7... here's what the club will look like...

I pass by that location regularly. Seems like smaller fitness facilities are becoming more and more popular in comparison to the bigger Extreme Fitness/Premier/Goodlife type. You have some competition right on Whites Rd, which I'm sure you're already aware of. Snap Fitness is similar to what you're opening.

What sort of prices do you offer annually?

It's been many years since I saw you online again, or at least your pictures.

I know Snap well... I was looking to buy that franchise before I found out about Anytime... the only similarity between the 2 clubs is that we are both open 24 hours :) Here are some of the differences between our clubs... which one would you want to join?

1) They have no showers, we have private showers
2) They have no tanning, we have unlimted tanning for $9.99 / month
3) They have no squat rack or cage... not olympic bar either!
4) They have almost no free weights... I have a 1500 sq/ft area of free weights...
5) They are using junk Chinese equipment from a company called Matrix, I am using Precor and Icarian
6) I have a fully stocked supplement store and will beat any local price (including online pricing), they sell nothing
7) Anytime members have automatic access to all 1000+ clubs accross North America, to go to another Snap you must speak to owner and they must call the other club owner and manually ask that you can use the club... does that sound like a smart process?
8) Anytime has it's own security company called Provision that monitors all the clubs... Snap uses Alarmforce (haha) and Anytime has a state of the art 'Door Detective' system that triggers an alarm if someone brings in a guest when the club is unstaffed... Snap has nothing like this and they rely on an 'honor system'...
9) According to a recent IHRSA report, even though Snap claims to have roughly the same number of clubs as Anytime they have half the number of members (200k vs 400k) I can post the report if anyone is interested...
10) A recent Wall Street Journal report has Anytime at the top of franchise success list, only 2% of Anytime clubs have failed (Snap is not even mentioned)
11) Even though Snap and Anytime are both headquartered in MN, Anytime was chosen by the local press to be the fast growing Business in the Twin Cities... Snap is not even on the list...
12) Go visit the Snap club, and then come see me :)

Our adult rate is $40 per month... we never charge any admin or BS fees... the full year costs $480 ($40x12) and if you pay up front we give you a month free... I sent a note to the board admin inquiring about offering a special rate to all board members... I will keep you posted on this...

Here's how my Pickering location compares to the Snap location...

Here's what my Whitby location looks like... this clubs has Startrac equipment... the free weights and selectorized are based on the oldschool Flex lineup of equipment... Startrac bought them a couple of years ago...

Hmmmm - it's too bad you don't have a location further north in Whitby! I'm up in Brooklin where they just opened a Snap location in December, but the Anytime model seems to be a little better. :D

It is better... my Whitby club is not far from you... I live at Brock & Dryden and it takes me about 5 minutes to get the club... I can hook you up with a good deal on a membership!
