For the past several days I have been reading statements made by St. Pierre and Greg Jackson about our fight on January 31. St. Pierre claims that he is “not a cheater” and that he and Greg Jackson will have “no problem with a rematch in the summer of 2009.” To the untrained eye the grease might not look like much, but every grappler knows the effect that it has. Being able to apply your submissions and sweeps or just being able to hold on to your opponent to defend yourself from being hit is absolutely critical! There is a reason why you are not allowed to put grease anywhere on your body except for the area around your eyes. Because of the grease applied to St.Pierre’s Body the Nevada State Athletic Commission’s executive director, Keith Kizer has stated that the Penn-St. Pierre fight “definitely wasn’t fair”. I hereby accept George St. Pierre and Greg Jackson’s challenge for a fight in the summer 2009. Lets call Dana now and set it up.

- BJ Penn

right on... I can handle watching BJ get his ass kicked again..BJ will have another disatavantage ..is knowing the beating will happen again is going to weigh heavy on his mind.....

BJ needs to bulk up a bit he looked a bit chubby at 168lbs, he needs to come in shreded 170 this time around. Still think GSP would win but he definitely didnt have the best conditioning for that fight.

sure it does but it doesnt take away the fact everyone would enjoy seeing another match and watch "bigmouth" get his face punched in again...

Was there some credible evidence to back up BJ's claim that GSP had applied grease to his body? Did an official get involved during the fight and determine this, or is it merely speculation? I'm suspicious of a claim made after all direct evidence is unobtainable. Why didn't he say something between rounds and the ref would have checked it out and made a ruling right then and there? Or did that happen?

BJ just wants more attention. He's a tough SOB because deep down I think he knows he'll get his ass kicked again. I think a rematch is a waste of time but the UFC will do anything for a buck so it will probably happen.

Even Dana White said GSP's corner broke the rules. But pretty much everyone knows it wasnt a fight changing thing.

You're probably right BUT this is not his first time. It has to be delt with!! And i'm not saying take away GSP's belt, thats just too harsh, a fine or something to reinforce that cheating is not acceptable..

i think that is what the commission is for and they appear to have not taken any steps. i am sure if they were positive GSP 'cheated' there would be consequences.
i mean, i dont know GSP personally but he doesnt seem like the kind of guy that would cheat and i dont think his corner is dumb enough to grease up their fighter in front of umpteen million fans with cameras everywhere.
just my thoughts on it.

This is getting repetitive. Everyone knows the outcome. UFC has wayyyyy too many rubbermatches because they don't have enough talent in certain weight divisions. BJ needs to stay in lightweight and face some real lightweights. Anyone of those guys listed below has a good chance of beating him. They would all jump on the chance, if Dana would just sign them.

Kenny Florian
Shinya Aoki
Gesias Calvancanti
Eddie Alvarez
Vitor Shaolin Ribeiro
Genki Sudo.

That's interesting... abuddy of mine used to be the champ in his style of fighting and his answers to rematches was always the same: "Do what I did: take the line up!"
He tough that it was pointless to give another chance to the same guy and if someone wanted to fight him again the guy should just work for it and he would never spend any time talking about his past fights his statements where always in the lines of: "He had his chance and I kicked his ass, bye bye, next!"

It is for BJ thats why he doesn't mind another beating...I don't think it's the same for GSP. Huge difference between the two in personalities and quality respectful fighter.

Agreed. There should be some kind of fine or punishment so it doesnt happen again.

I can definitely see impossing a fine on one of the cornermen, but not to GSP. Did GSP have any knowledge of the vasoline being applied to him? I watched the fight and the only time I thought it could have happened was when one of the cornermen was massaging GSP's shoulders, arms and rubbing his back, but before this he was applying vasoline to GSP's face. So maybe he still had some vasoline on his hands, but it wouldn't be much. Was it done on purpose?

I also thought that the commission wiped GSP down between rounds. Would that not have removed most of the vasoline?

Maybe in the rematch Penn's corner will allow Penn to finish the fight, instead of stopping it. Who's the quitter now?

BJ talks alot of smack and couldnt deliver. His corner was asking him if he wanted this fight between rounds and all BJ kept mumbling was that he couldnt breath. Just before he quit his corner asked him if he knew where he was??? Is this the result of some supposed vasoline on GSP's back? The last round BJ couldnt stop the beating and even if there was an oil slick on GSP's back it wold not have made a difference. BJ sucks ass as a person, and an athlete and the whole lead up to the fight seemed to demonstrate who was the better fighter and person.
I do not think BJ should be given another opportunity ahead of more deserving fighters and although I do not think too highly of Kenny F I would love to see him beat BJ down like the bitch he seems to potray.

I'm pretty sure once GSP beats his chubby ass one more time they'll come up with something new. Did you see that slick marketing vid he has on his website showing the supposed "grease"? Talk about propaganda.
BJ is a whiny bitch and has done well against smaller , shorter men. He's a an over rated tool.

He doesn't want to fight Florian cause he knows Florian has a good chance of beating him so he's waiting for one more large payout against GSP and the he'll retire. He aged poorly anyways,
