Anybody know a good recipe for homemade protein bars?

I may sound like a parrot saying this again, but on johnberardi`s site, there is one in the recipie section.

I used to do this until I realized it just wasn't worth the efforts. It's easier to just throw shit into a blender and drink it then it is to make these things.

Yeah, it's just that I'm going away so I want to prepare something that is easy to snack on and bring with me when I leave the Hotel.

Here's what I've been eating for the last few months.

100g almonds
100g flax seeds
60g peanut butter
60g chocolate whey
2 tbs splenda
1/4 cup skim milk (approx)
vanilla extract (optional)

-Crush up the almonds in a food processor (you can roast them beforehand if you wish) and add it to a bowl
-Grind up the flax in a coffee grinder and add it to the bowl
-Add the whey
-Add the splenda
-Mix it all up
-Add the peanut butter
-Add the vanilla extract
-Mix it all up and add in as much milk as you need to make it a very thick paste

Take a clump and place it in some plastic wrap to form it into a bar and throw it in the fridge for a few hours. It'll look like a turd wrapped in plastic (especially with chunky peanut butter), but I think it tastes pretty good none the less.

It takes quite a bit of effort to mix it all together so having a stand mixer helps a lot.

The above recipe makes four 105 gram bars. Each bar has about 500 calories since they contain quite a bit of fat.

Edit: You could probably use water instead of milk if you wanted - though I've never tired it that way.
