what kind of cardio do you guys do when you are bulking? how much?

my cardio usually consists of the treadmill.. you can walk slow to keep the heart rate low so you burn fat but not muscle but what about some cardio exercise to work the most important muscle in the body.. the heart.. what do you guys do?

I was doing 15-20 min after each workout but halted that. I now do 15 minutes of ab work instead. I'm offseason so who gives a shit about doing cardio at the gym for now. I have more than enough of it coming up soon, lol. I do walk my dog 2x a day so consider that my cardio.

But for you if your not competing I'd say 3x a week of 20-30min would be good. Moderate pace.

Dante the guy behind DC training is big on cardio. If he hasen`t changed his perspective. One good thing I can think of is that it increases hunger. I don`t think I`d go to the gym on an off day to do just cardio though. After training would be a better time, and not after legs...

10-15 mins of sprints on a bike 2x/week. 30 sec hard followed by 1 min relaxed.

It'll get your appetite up as well as keep your cardio-vascular system STRONG while not burning a ****-ton of calories.

Good advices...
low intensity cardio helps to develop more mitochondria's in the cell. The mitochondria is typically called the "powerhouse" of the cell. This is where many waste products are delivered and recycled and also the production of ATP, our energy source for life.

When you exerise, ATP --> ADP, then must be "recycled" with another phosphate "P". So, ATP --> exercise --> ADP --> mitochondria --> P + ADP = ATP, and the cycle begins again.

As far as how much to do is another part to deal with so you don't cause more catabolism than anabolism of muscle.

So it makes sense you will notice better recovery between sets as you are probably replenishing your ATP stores more quickly.

whats wrong with after legs? i'd think that it would be good to get the lactic acid outta there

Probably because he walks like a cripple after a massive leg workout...at least that's my reasoning.

^^^ exactly. I don`t even train calves on the same day anymore. I`m just thinking of my next post workout meals and taking a nap if the training was done early in the day and thankfull it`s only once a week, it`s a love hate thing.
