If you`ve never consumed flax seed oil, keep it cold and give the bottle a shake before each use. Just thinking of the last third of the bottle and the taste is turning my stomach. I once made my brother in law taste some and couldn`t believe how disgusting it was. Enjoy!

i had it in a shake and it just wrecked the taste of the shake...normally i enjoy them...

not a big fan of eating dairy.. i tend to bloat from it.. i'm sure i'll get through this powder and then try the pills

^^^ Are you saying you didn`t like the taste of the powder? If that`s the case you won`t be able to drink the liquid. Much, much worse. The best way to take the liquid is just to put a few tablespoons in your mouth while holding your breath while taking some swigs of your protein drink, still holding your breath. Rinse your mouth kinda like you would do with scope to get the residue flax this will help get rid of the nasty after taste.

The pills are expensive if you decide to go that route. I saw some which were strongly dosed for flax pills at 2.5 grams each. You`d need to take 12 of them to equal 2 tablespoons of the liquid. That little bottle won`t last long. I stongly suggest you try udo`s choice oil. It`s a blend of multiple oils. Dosen`t taste as bad and is better. If I remember correctly is`t because it has a better ratio of omega`s like 1:1:1. Does cost a little more than flax, but it`s worth it.

Ground Hemp Seed wins hands down over flax oil in all areas of health improvements. If you want rich sourced EFA's use an Omega 3 supplement. You can pick those up at costco for dirt cheap and not have to deal with the taste of nasty ass supplements. Hemp and Omega 3 caps FTW. :)

Flax seed can be a source of calories, fish oil can`t. But ideally both would be used. For me I never got anything from fish oil, even using very high doses in liquid form. But since alot of people get good results from it, I certainly don`t dismiss it. You can`t argue with scientific and anecdotal proof.

can you actually tell in a tangible way if you're getting benefits from fish oils/ flax seed. i would think taking these supplements affect the body on a cellular level so don't we just assume these are good for our body. how does one really measure their effect?

many people using fish oil report a better ability to concentrate and is touted to help with mood problems. I can`t say it did that for me. But I think you`re right about the whole cellular level thing. But who cares about inner health? (jk)

In the case of flax oil, if some people eat absolutely no fat at all, they will see the biggest improvements overall. Better skin, healty lookin hair, fuller looking muscles, in all it`s essential for test production as you most likely know. I get plenty of good fats so never really noticed benefits from flax.

Something I`ve noticed when taking lot`s of flax is how fast my nails grow. Which sucks as I hate cutting my toe nails. I swear I only cut them about once every 3 months. Sometimes I have to point my toes when I put my pants on so they don`t get caught in the material. I`ve also scrapped my ex girlfriends in bed before and one used to actually cut my toe nails for me. One day her mom walked in the living room as I was laying there with my foot on her lap as she was clipping away...

Just buy the flax seeds in bulk from Bulk Barn, and grind them up with a coffee grinder. You get 2g of fiber, 0.1g net carbs, 3g fats/tbsp. http://www.nutritiondata.com/facts/nut-and-seed-products/3163/2

Fish Oil > Flax Oil since the Omega-3's in Fish Oil are as EPA/DHA, whereas the Flax Oil Omega-3's are ALA, which require conversion and can be drawn off into other processes/pathways depending on your body's needs.

Fish Oil is definitely a long-term supplement; it's sort of like a good insurance policy I feel. If you buy the caps in bulk, at like $0.25/day for a decent dose, it's an easy choice.
