Well I will start a journal here.:ht

I met up with my trainer and now I have the goods, I will be starting on Monday.:yeah Current weight 160lbs - 5'6 1/2 Pictures will be taken on Saturday morning. Contest is June 13, 2009

Here's the break down.

Follow DIET #1 for 3 day…then follow DIET #2 for 2 day…….then REPEAT

Diet 1

MEAL #1
2 whole (OMEGA-3) Eggs with 6 egg whites

MEAL #2
35g Whey protein Isolate with 1 tablespoon all natural peanut butter


MEAL #3
6oz chicken (ostrich, or turkey) with 1/4-cup (1oz) cashew nuts, or almonds, or walnuts (vary it)

MEAL #4
5oz salmon, swordfish, or RED MEAT with a green salad (no tomatoes, red peppers, or carrots) with 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil or Mac Nut Oil and vinegar

MEAL #5
35g Whey Protein Powder with 1 tablespoon all natural peanut butter or 2 whole (OMEGA-3) EGGS with 6 whites

Diet 2

MEAL #1
12 egg whites

MEAL #2
40g Protein Powder


MEAL #3
6oz chicken (ostrich, turkey, tuna) with 1-cup asparagus or green beans

MEAL #4
6oz white fish (fluke, flounder, sole, cod, ect.) with a green salad with vinegar & mustard (no olive or macadamia nut oil)

MEAL #5
35g Whey protein Isolate or 12 egg whites


You should have a cheat meal once per week (in place of meal #5).

*** Sugar Free Metamucil or try out FIBERLYZE -SPECIES product that’s the only fiber supplement on the market to contain SOLUBLE as well as INSOLUBLE fiber…


I can use sugar-free soy sauce (use as much salt as I want), Sea Salt, mustard, and vinegar for condiments.
I can drink water, sugar-free drinks (diet soda), coffee, or tea with STEVIA BALANCE - SPLENDA or EQUAL

Training is as follows :bch

Back and Biceps and quads
Chest and triceps
Wednesday off
Quads, hamstrings
Shoulders and calves

abs three days a week and cardio for 1 hr a day 7 days a week starting out…..

Supplements
Juice Plus
Multi-vitamin with Iron (1 pill 2x per day)
Coral Calcium 1500mg per day
Evening Primrose Oil (1300mg 2x per day)
Omega-3 Fish oil pills (Omega 3 fatty acids) 1000mg 3x per day

JOINT STRENGTH and REPAIR:
1. Glucosamine Sulfate 2000mg 2x per day (joints)
2. MSM 2000mg 2x per day (joints and tissue regeneration

Had a workout on Saturday with Nicole, worked quads. Great workout...one thing she wants me to work on is my outer sweep, the quad workout we did definately hit that area. We also worked on some posing so as I post my pics hope to see progression in that area as well.

I have put on some for sure over the winter, and well that's what winter is for.

All will be gone shortly, keto diet, hour of cardio a day, plus training, should start dropping quickly.

First workout with no carbs, could certainly feel my energy levels were low. As the week progress's my body will get used to it and my energy levels should go back up.

Chest and tri's last night, and I couldn't push out my heaviest weight, it was a struggle a little hard on the ego but to be expected.

Im interested to see the difference in your energy levels b/w the Protein/Fat and the Protein/Veggie days. It will be a good guage of how truly important the EFA's are in the keto diet.

Most definately, the last time I did keto it took about a week and a half to two weeks for my body to accept the change and my energy levels were back to normal.

I am curious to see how Thursday Friday feel when I switch to the diet 2

I don't see lower junk in your abdominal area either then is the normal healthy amount. Your in great shape.

Hi Fc, thanks for your kind words. You know how we as women are, once the jeans start to get a bit tite then there is a bit of extra ;)

Everyone has a diffrent way of dieting, just finding what works is the hard part. The keto diet worked very well for me last fall. She gave me two diffrent kind of diets and asked me which one I would prefer and I went the keto route.

Yes doing bodybuilding, she is going to assess me as we go along but she wants me to drop 30lbs. Sitting at 160 right now so I have a long way to go :shock

you think you have flab? That diet is getting to your brain. You are looking real good. Awesome traps, great shoulders, my god those guns are awesome. You're tight from the abs down, just don't have full definition yet. You're Maxim ready, but with the amount of time you have to dial in the last bit, you'll do it in spades.

Woke up with the friggn flu. Took pics and pretty much back to the couch. Managed to have my cheat night still, wasn't missing that for nothing ;) Flat and white as a ghost haha time to get tanning

Thanks guys, the diet is going well, went for vday supper and cheesecake on sat it was delicious!! I certainly look forward to the Saturday night cheats that I get. :D

My energy levels are staying up now, my body has gotten used to the no fat days, and its getting easier :)

Hi CC - I don't know if anyone has ever told you this, I would be surprised if you have not heard it yet, but watch those thumbs sticking out on your poses - no matter what pose it is, you always want to hide your thumb in your fist, you know, do the OPPOSITE of what you would do were you to punch somebody.....and try your best to curl your wrist at the same time (towards the bicep). This will stop your hands detracting from your musculature - aftyer all, you are not showing off your hands and thumbs, no muscles worth showing there for anybody. Sorry if the advice is unwarranted, just thought I should say something.

Hey Carl, thankyou for the advice I will take any tips and feedback :) I will be meeting with my trainer alot more for posing practice, I have only had one session, and that was tris and chest pose. I have a looonggg way to go when it comes to posing :shock

Still feeling good. Cardio is really boring ......1.15mins of it ...yuck. I am finding coming home and putting on the tv to do it keeps me entertained. I can't handle reading (never have been able to do that) or watching the tv at the gym.....
My workouts have been good my strength is staying the same, definately not increasing but even better not decreasing.

Posing is coming a bit better......alot of work in this department yet.

you've made really nice progress and fwiw from a newb....turn ur wrists over (down) just a smidge more on the front & rear double bi poses.

i.e. post #59, on the last pic your right wrist is linear with ur forearm where as ur left wrist is canted. please accept as postive critique - you look great!!

New set of pics. Had posing practice again on saturday. After looking at these I have to remember to bring my hip up in my side tri and chest shots. Definately learned somemore tricks. Didn't know how to do an ab pose, blowing out is a pretty neat trick :D Trainer was happy with my progress which made mde happy :) She thinks I will be going on stage around 138lbs

to me, and I have no real world experience being on stage but i knwo what I like.
so to me, in the top right picture, first of the new set, side chest shot. your palm is down, as aposed to palm up flexing both side chest and bicep peek at the same time. palm down elongates the bicep, although giving an appearance of a fuller overall arm to me it just looks diferent having your hand in that way.

I love your back poses, as i'm certain many others do as well :) but how about a back lat spread shot?

Your Hams/Glutes look great,(Sorry Willy, just telling the truth.) And you have nice shapely calves. Your mid section will be the last to come in, but I can already see the lines where they will. Your back is your strongest point, great size/seperation already. Keep it up!!

P.s. I know I already said it, but I dig the glasses. :)

Thanks for the tips Ongeau, greatly appreciated :) Back lat spread shot isn't mandatory at this level, and probly a good thing....that pose for me is hard as hell. I practice it a bit but my trainer doesn't want to spend alot of time on it, have to get the other's down first.

You're both lucky to have someone in your life that understands and supports such an extreme lifestyle, and I bet it really makes a difference when it comes to seeing a tough diet and training regimen through.

Amazing progress. Truly inspirational. How are you and ironwill getting along with both of you on low carbs at one time? Sounds like pretty well, and I hoe so. You're both lucky to have someone in your life that understands and supports such an extreme lifestyle, and I bet it really makes a difference when it comes to seeing a tough diet and training regimen through.
i am still wondering if the conditions will change:D... we have been having a blast with this, encouragement when down etc.Training together, groceries, cardio, we work together...so yeah we are together all the time, literally...lol..so far all is great...shes a redhead to boot....i must have did a good job training during the break-in period...lolol...

He's a very good man!!!!!

I am definately proud to say we spend alot of time together and get along grrreat. Not to many couples can do that. We support each other 100% in everything work, comp, and day to day stuff!!

As far as training goes at the break-in period I would say he trained very well!! ;)

few updates - flat and depletete ....taken on no fat day after workout and cardio....up to 1.5hrs of cardio. Fatburners. Still keto with 3 fat days 2 strictly protien.

your back double bicep pose is spot on.

Side chest..try bringing the back shoulder up and in higher then the front one.

Legs..get on the step ups..lunges etc.

Abs are coming in...great work.

Posing is certainly the hardest thing to get down, it takes ALOT of practice. Thank-you for the advice :)

I am not sure if you have bought a suit yet but she makes suits that give you a cup size more they look great. If you already have a suit you can get these I had them for my contest in 07 http://www.chinesemol.com/member/upload/product/61529302/2006899265120212.jpg
I actually tosed an unused par out last yet when I was moving I got them dirt cheap in china town $10

haha, you caught my intro thread. I have to say your progress is very nice and your posing isn't too off like you say you just keep practicing. Believe me, mine has come a long way and I think they become more natural with confidence which comes with every week. The tighter and more cut up you get the tighter your poses will be. Do you have to do a night routine as well? not sure if bbing is different in Canader as oppose to el US?

I am really excited to see how you come in, you are right on target for 5 weeks :)

I store in my legs as well, this will be the very last thing to come in on me which stress's me out but all I can do is keep at the cardio and diet.

I am loving the vein action...never had that before it's very exciting to see those things popp'n out all over the place :hu

Went yesterday and got fitted for my suit....those bottoms are teeny tiney haha. Went with a Velvet Emerald Green. Very strict with suits here, no stones, and nothing shiney. Kinda Boring but ahhh well it is still very nice colour.

So now to get the tan ordered, room booked, ect. 5 weeks to go!

I know what you mean, I really was intrigued by your journal and pics, etc because I dabble in the same sport. Not that figure, fitness, etc.. are not super cool and exciting, but its not what I do therefore I gravitate moreso to the bodybuilding aspect. I have alot of respect for figure and fitness girls. We all put in alot of work into training, dieting MEH and getting show-ready. But I swear I would so kill myself in those heels on stage... then again a splinter can be pretty painful.. LOL!

Where is your show? hotel... ahh so its like a little getaway as well. My show is about a 2 hour trip so I will probably get a room as well. No way I am stressing out in the car driving to venue covered in dream tan and depleted.

Green that is a good color.. I have a red and purple suit, gonna order I think BLACK this time. I have to get mine online, we don't have stores here to go get them fitted and yes the bottoms are so tiny.

I will be keeping close track on you m'lady over the next few weeks. Head up, train strong and work that magic in your poses.

my vein in my left arm has a mind of its own... when I stress it pulsates and I have a throbbing to it. Its very uncomfortable. Not sure if my pressure is as whacked out as I am these days but I swear my arm goes into overdrive.

Hope you don't get that too :(

No not trying a new side chest pose, just need practice lol, definately not sitting up the way I am supposed to in those poses. I was hurrying through my poses bc there was an older fella on the deck behind me and he finally went back inside so the rush was on haha I didn't really want to give him a ass show.......that's why the towel is behind me on the balcony ;)

Face is starting to sink in a bit, clear sign that you're getting to a low bodyfat level. Progress looks amazing, and the fact that the last 4 weeks shows the biggest changes... It's going to be exciting to see you ready to go. I wouldn't be one bit surprised if you win your class. Keep it up CC!

I am really excited to see the next 4 weeks, just hopeing everything comes in on time. The legs .....that will be the test.

With your side chest, I personally feel you need to switch your grips. The arm that you are flexing your bicep on needs to have the hand with your palm up, not down. Having your palm facing up will give you a better definition in your bicep and create a more 'prominent' look. Much better in my opinion and will also give the illusion your arms are bigger. Food for thought.

you are correct...thats a crazy habit she picked up somewhere...lol...She gets poop from her trainer for that...i never noticed while taking the pic...

I like Jean.....works for me ;) I was pretty stoked to see that as well, didn't know I had that kind of veinage. Surprising myself daily with the veins popping out everywhere.

Taken on Saturday, completely depleted. 3 weeks out.

Met with trainer on Saturday had a 20 min posing practice. She wants my legs tighter of course she was a bit concerned about not being were they need to be. She took away all my fats so on strictly protien now. 2 hrs of cardio still.

Will see what I can do in the next 3 weeks, going to give it all I got and hope for the best. That's all I can do.

Met with Shortdave and Alladin and the four of us went riding, it was great fun!! It was great to meet you finally Alladin, see your awesome gym and thanks for the awesome shake mmm yummy.

So I was told today that all I get is strictly protien from now till a week from contest. I am on my fifth day of strictly protein now. No carb up sat either. I am doing 2 hrs of cardio a day and now I am to up the intensity. I haven't moved on the scale for quite a while but yet getting leaner, I keep hovering between 151-154, which she didn't seem happy with. My legs need to be tighter at this point I was told on Saturday. I am holding water in them like crazy. :(

So carry on carrying on. My energy levels are zip. I have none at this point. have to keep going for another week on just protien. No one said it would be easy that's for sure, and I definately don't expect it to be. So hopefully my next set of pics there will be some drastic changes to the leggy's

Thankyou to everyone for following along in my journey and all the support that you have given.

I am off from work the rest of the week yippeeee

Today has been a busy day..... looked at some houses, cardio, gym, nails ect

Sent my pics to trainer this am, she was happy.....she phoned me later with the plan for the week. She has brought up my cardio another 10mins, so now at 2hr 10mins...... I start my diuretic tomorrow, as well as 5-6 L of water.

As the mornings go by and I send her pics she will decide on my fat load for friday. We are staying away from carbs for me, my body loves water from carbs hahaha. I have to bring with me hard boiled eggs and a jar of peanut butter, protien powder for saturdays morning load. Then it will be a burgr minus the bun and french fries in the afternoon woot woot

As for the rest of the week, chicken, tuna, egg whites, rand 2 cups of green veggies through out the day. No sodium.

The day went awesome, morning show went great. Then went to eat a burger no bun and fries with salt....no water I have to say that was the HARDEST part the no water. I was sitting at the table trying to be social with my mom, sisters and gf that came to watch and I wasn't doing so good. I finally had to say I have to back to the room and lay down before I dive my face into that ice water jug on the table. I wasn't feeling to good at that point, but got over it.

Before I knew it, it was 6 and time to get to the night show. I had a freak'n blast!!!! Everyone was so great, the volunteers were awesome.

My routine went well I have a video of it as well, my gf rocked...she took vid's and pics. Lots and lots of fun.

So I could do the provincials this weekend, which I was getting alot of pressure to do, from my coach the judges ect. I decided to not do it this year, I need to get my head back to work, my career, and work on what I need to and hit the provincials next year even better I had awesome feedback from the judges afterwards to, they are a fantastic group.

Man I have such a fire lit under my ass, I am floating on cloud nine I am so proud of Ironwill and I and our accomplishments this year.

I have to say someone up there is looking after me, and I am grateful

Again I can't say enough about all of you and your support you have brought me up when I was down and encouraged me through my journey xoxoxoxo

Well I am done eating lol, I have done nothing but friggn eat!! Terrible!! I had to take a flying trip to Edmonton yesterday for work, so was on the road all day yesterday. I am bagged this morning. Mainly bc I haven't stopped eating crap and two I need to get back to the gym. I get into work today for the first time after being gone for comp and I have a BIG box of Tim Hortons donuts lol....so the eating hasn't stopped lol.

Talked to coach on Monday, she wants me no more then 15lbs over contest weight. After talking to judges....couple things I need to work on, bring up my chest, and shoulders. As well as hit the legs even harder for next year. So my eating plan now is still a keto style diet, but carbs in the morning (bagel, whole wheat toast, oatmeal) with peanutbutter and protein as well as have a clean carb after workouts with protien. Keep it clean....have a cheat meal on Wed Nights and a cheat meal on saturday nights.

What can I say girl? Those pics actually made me tear up...lol. It's been a pleasure to follow your journey and see you KICK BUTT!!!:yeah Well done:) Sounds like you have a solid plan for the off season, keep at it, the changes will come.... In the mean time, RELAX a bit and enjoy "normal" life for awhile.
